Carolyn "shoulder thing that goes up" McCarthy to retire - good or bad?

Well..................Bye. Unfortunately her replacement will still be an enemy.

    Take a gun fishing

Yup. A 4" Redhawk in .45 Colt, carried in a Diamond D Guides Choice Chest holster with a six-round bandoleer and speedloader. I don't worry too much about getting it wet since I'm usually wearing a jacket over it. http://www.diamonddcustomleather.com/Chest_Holsters.php

DHS says people with handguns, rifles, and shotguns may be terrorists

Is there anyone here that really did not think that at the inception of DHS that it would be turned inward on us as an internal security apparatus? I remember back in the day people on this very board and a couple others that said we were the tinfoil hatters and that DHS was need to keep us...

    Do you wear firearms-related apparel?

I Exactly. Same here. I'm not hiding from anyone and I really don't care if someone's feelers get hurt by what I wear. Besides, I don't go places where I wouldn't be welcome in Carhartts and a t-shirt anyway. And yes some of them have various logos on them.

This flys in the face of the antis

But there's a simple explaination for that. It's because of the guns flooding in from states/cities that don't have strict gun control.

    Favorite Firearm Manufacturer Logo?

From the list it's a toss-up between Springfield Armory and Ruger. In the "Other" catagory, Doublestar's flying dragon is pretty cool.

    Testing Obama's Theory

Well he can start breathing again since he no longer has to pretend to be pro-gun.

Fishing question about Long lining -- Alaska

The type of fishing you are asking about for subsistence/personal use isn't longlining. It also depends on the type/species of fish you are after as to the type of gear you use. What you are asking about is known as a skate. Subsistence caught ground/bottom fish such as halibut, cod, flounder...

    Ruger Survey

Dump the Super Redhawk and offer the Redhawk in .41 Mag, 44 mag, 45 Colt, and .454 Casull with unflutted cylinders and barrels of 4", 5 1/2", 7 1/2" and 10". Offer a 5-shot Redhawk in .480 with the same barrel lengths as above. Change the bolt handle profile of their bolt guns to a more...

What was the purpose of Fast and Furious?

The purpose of F&F aka Gunwalker was to seed Mexico with easily traceable, US sourced guns which would inevitably turn up at Mexico crime scenes to be used as a pretext for a draconian gun control push. Even after Holder and his waffen BATFEces thugs were caught, Holder continued to deflect...

    Limited options for .45 Colt?

Nope. Not from me unless they are lighter plinking and GP loads. My powder recommendations for the .45 Colt are H-110/W-296 and Lil' Gun. Of course I'm loading 300-335gr hardcast business loads at "Ruger Only" levels. I'm interested in trying SR-4759 too. Can't find data for it at the...

    Anyone using Starline brass ?

Starline is high-end brass especially for handguns. I use it for my thermonuclear .45 Colt loads. Buffalo Bore and Double Tap do too.

Help. My 30-06 is beating me to death

Tikka T3 Lites tend to turn into meat tenderizers after a few rounds of 180 grainers, especially with the Federal HE loads. I put a Limbsaver on mine and tamed it down quite a bit.

    44 Magnum: Taurus Raging Bull v S&W 629 v Ruger SRH v Colt Anaconda?

For the sake of the poll, I voted SRH, but I prefer the original Redhawk. Too much unnecessary bulk and metal in the SRH.

History of the Confederate Powder Works

I grew up in southeastern WV. The area that I lived in has a huge network of limestone caves that link up with cave systems in VA and probably KY. We used to go caving quite a bit on weekends. Anyways in the next count over from me (Monroe) there were quite a few caves that the Confederacy used...

Regular customer here. Never had a problem. Their shipping has gone up a bit, but with fuel prices the way they are that's to be expected.

    Ruger Redhawk trigger question

All the Redhawks generally have nice smooth DA triggers. The complaints are with a SA pulls. Don't know why. Mine seems to be okay. It's also pretty easy to swap out the springs on one for a lighter or heavier pull. One coil mainspring basically runs the whole works. Mine is currently a pile...

Never. It should either be on you or or locked in storage.

Living with an anti-gun spouse, how do you do it?

I don't and I won't. Getting tangled up with someone who doesn't share some core values is a recipe for disaster and a good way to lose half your stuff. Not liking guns and not patricipating in shooting activities is one thing. Being anti and trying to control what you may or may not do is...
