i've been around SASS matches with shooters shooting very light 45 loads of TG and the first shot out of the cylinder from the draw sometimes sounds like a squib.......i have no idea what the loads were but they were very light.....D I C K
They may have the best reputation in the industry but i don't order from anywhere who's website doesn't list contact info.....unless i missed it, i can't tell where these guys are........D I C K
Don't forget Ebay....there is always 870 stuff on there....i just did a search for 870 stock and got 71 items...about 50 were stocks of one sort or another.....D I C K
these is a trick i've seen on the net before that uses a block of wood that you put utility knife blade in to cut them at the mid point of the wad....i actually found one made out of aluminum in an old gun shop......nobody in the store knew what it was for and i tried to get them to give it to...
You could'a got these from me.......always check ebay first when you need brass........D I C K

i once loaded a bunch of spreader type shotshells with basically no shot cup and shot a 50 round skeet match....by the end of the match (in my Browning GTI Citori) the gun was actually puffing grey (lead) smoke from the ports....i got the gun home and it was leaded as bad as a 357 magnum load...
i've had m9/11s and texas ingrams over the years and none of them would work for very long....now that i'm older and probably no wiser i think i'd just buy a 9mm glock with a 32 round mag and shoot from the hip.....you'll hit just about as much and still have a gun that will last for ever...D I C K
American Derringer can kiss my Butt
i shoot SASS and wanted an original looking Derringer and choose an American Derringer with the white grips and more costly bright finish....it never reliably would index from one barrel to another and after a trip to them (that took forever and a day) it was...
i sell once fired brass and was sorting some brass today and came across a couple of them....i first thought that Wolf had come up with a new coating....looked at the headstamp and saw Hornady....a magnet wouldn't pick them up (that's a good thing)....threw them away anyway.......D I C K
you may want to check RCBS site....i've got a "Five" and i'm pretty sure that is not aluminum......i got it off ebay and put an extra piggyback i had on it....D I C K
i just went to RCBS site and sure enough they say that is aluminum....
i just shot some old cast bullets today that i relubed with Lee Alox...these were some old 45 cal 225 round noses that were probably cast 20 years ago and were lubed with maybe Lyman lube of the period....it had dried up for the most part....i relubed and shot them at 725-750 fps....no...
i've already been there.......nice manual online but no schematic....the deal is a buddy was traded one of these and it will not shoot due to firing pin safety not deactivating....looks like a lever or some part may be missing in the lower frame....thanks....D I C K
i see that Hodgdon shows 20-25 grains in most BP pistols....what would you think would be a safe but stiff load for the dragoon????....thanks for your thoughts....D I C K
i sent one of my nipples to Dixie gunworks and promptly got an email back telling me which one to get.....it was the uberti one....i got them the other day and popped 12 or so caps without any problems.........
Another question....how about triple 7 in this pistol?????? How much???? What is...
after getting a lot of info from Gatofeo's post and info from a few local Black powder shooters, i took my recently inherited Second generation first model colt dragoon to the monthly SASS match......below are a few observations......please feel free to make comments....thanks in advance

A local gunshop has one and i think it is a joke....it looks like one of those on the above website that has two tanks.....that nasty crud that accumulates around the feedramp and breech of an auto pistol is still there after running it through the cleaner.....one of those will not be replacing...
