Arkansas Drops New Hampshire From list of States It Honors

    Heller related..."reasonable restrictions"

I live in NH, where the CCW permit requires 3 references. But NH law also states that they "shall issue the permit" within 14 days, provided I'm not a felon or insane. So if the state must issue the permit, what's the point of the references? Why should someone have to prove their innocence to...

    pocket gun

I'm waiting until I can purchase one of the new Ruger LCP .380s. I got to handle one that wasn't for sale. Essentially the same size as the Kel Tec (and similar price), but it seemed to have a more quality feel.

I'm Surrounded by Antis - Help!

"It Can Happen Here" Unfortunately, it may take a crime that hits close to home for them to change their minds. My wife used to "tolerate" my gun ownership, but wanted them locked up. At that time I didn't conceal-carry (hadn't evolved to that point persoanlly yet), but I'm sure she wouldn't...

Need Help With Colt Pony Trigger Problem

OK, I admit I'm not a gunsmith. I usually only fieldstrip my handguns for cleaning to the point they describe in the manual. Anyway, I have a Colt Pony (.380) Pocketlite that I bought used, so I'm not sure how many rounds are through it. (I've shot about 150). It worked fine when I shot it...

    Heller and AWB impact?

The definition of "reasonable" will be argued in courts for decades to come. It's VERY possible that some future Supreme Court will find it reasonable to limit magazine capacity to 10. That's why we need to keep electing Presidents who will appoint the likes of Thomas, Scalia, et al.

    What was your answer?

I think the "right answer" depends on the state. In NH, I can write self defense, or sporing use, or whatever. No one bats an eye. In NY, many people advise not writing "self defense", since it may lessen your chances. And this is for their permit to simply own the gun.

Heller Brief Released Link Is Here Very well written. Some juicy stuff, asking the Court to apply a "strict scrutiny" standard in judging gun laws begins on page 54.

Looking For A Small "Quick Access" Gun Safe

I was looking at one of those the other day. Quite nice. Quick, definitive opening. Feels sturdy. Tamper warning. If batteries run out, you can use the key OR they have a spot externally that you can temporarily place a 9 volt battery to re-energize it. The only drawback in my mind, was...

    keeping gun in truck?

In NH, you can keep a loaded handgun in your car as long as it's visible. If you hide it, you need a CHL (very easy to get).

    Blued vs Stainless Steel

I've always liked SS for exactly the reasons you state. It sounds like you prefer the aesthetics of a blued gun, which is a totally valid reason to want one.

    AR-15 or M1 Garand

If the Dems get the presidency, and retain control of Congress, I think we'll see a ban. This issue is just too tempting for them, and they can't control themselves. It's in their blood. Sure, they've learned their lesson: next time there won't be any sunset clause. So I say an AR. And...

Maybe there IS something to "it will only be taken away and used against you"...
