One More Sixgun! Colt Detective Special.

Nice revolver! I have a Colt Agent. It’s basically a Detective Special with a matte finish. Great trigger. I carried it off and on for a few years.

Colion Noir - NY Judge does not allow the 2nd Amendment in the courtroom?

I’ve been an attorney for 41 years, most of those years prosecuting civil fraud at the trial court and appellate levels and then as an appellate criminal prosecutor for the government. Two points: 1. The judge should have called the attorney to the bench and told him not to get into the Second...

    how much is too much?

If you want the gun to shoot, it seems stupid to me to pay $25,00.00 for the original. Buy a good copy unless you have more money than you know what to do with. Just my opinion. It's your money.

    Gun Security App

Selling personal data would be a concern. Not sure what the developer will track and what data might be sold. I’m one who doesn’t advertise owing guns—no stickers or clothing to make others aware.

    Gun-toting lawyers in Arkansas

Made me think of a lawyer who took a shot at another lawyer in court over a woman. The presiding judge came off the bench and tackled the shooter. This was many years ago and started the use of metal detectors in state courts.

    Gun Security App

I don’t know the details of how the app works, but assume the link between gun and app is encrypted to some degree. It is not a location app and shouldn’t alert others there is a gun nearby.

    Gun Security App

There’s a new gun security app coming out in June. You attach a “beacon” to a firearm that alerts an app on your phone if the firearm is a certain distance away from the phone (most of us keep our phones close). It is evidently designed to keep up with a carry gun or one in a drawer, etc. It...

    Burro Defense Gun

    Laughing my ass off...

Any firearm can be used self-defense in a pinch. Do you agree?

You're right about that. I had a case once where a man was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon when he threw a glass ashtray and hit the victim in the head and caused a serious injury. But I don't see police arresting anyone for carrying a concealed ash tray, etc. Another case I had, a BB...

    S&W 547 opinions?

I bought a 547 over twenty years ago. I got it at a good price and consider it a safe queen. I do shoot it every once in a great while, but I realize some of the parts would probably be impossible to find. I'm still glad I bought it.

    Another "New" 1911.

Found this out the hard way myself. Bought a new 1984 Bronco II (yes, I'm getting up there) only to find out it was colloquially known as an 83 and a half. It had a tendency to die anytime it rained hard, usually on a busy road at rush hour. And I bought a Kimber 1911 when they moved to external...

Any firearm can be used self-defense in a pinch. Do you agree?

Any gun is better than no gun. For that reason, persons who cannot legally own modern firearms may be able to own "antique" firearms under federal law. This basically means muzzle loaders that cannot be readily converted to a more modern gun. But anyone should look at the full ATF definition...

List of my guns for wife

I've had a couple of major surgeries that has me thinking about the disposition of my guns. My wife doesn't like firearms but tolerates them because I do. Neither of my daughters are likely to want them. So, I have a database of my guns and have decided to include an estimated retail value of...

Louisville Trial Court Rules State Law Against Felons in Possession is Unconstitutional

It is not binding on any other court in the state. The prosecutor’s office will appeal if the judge does not modify the ruling (highly unlikely the bottom line would change). The prosecutor would then appeal and any published opinion would be binding in the state. Still a way to go, but it’s the...

Louisville Trial Court Rules State Law Against Felons in Possession is Unconstitutional

Relying heavily on N.Y. State Rifle & Pistol Ass'n v. Bruen, a state court judge has ruled Kentucky's law against felons possessing firearms is unconstitutional. Opinion and Order. The Commonwealth argued Bruen applied only to "law-abiding" citizens and that the defendant in the case had not...

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

I have had two gun related purchases this week. One was the purchase of 300 rounds of Aguila mini-shells (#4 and #1 buck in each shell) and the second is a new-to-me Nighthawk Krestel in .45 acp. No range trip or pics yet.

    Kentucky Constitutional Carry Under Fire?

Kentucky has constitutional open carry, but concealed carry used to be illegal. A number of years ago, the legislature passed “shall issue” concealed carry licenses. A few years ago, the legislature approved concealed carry without a license. I’ve seen nothing to indicate that is going to...

    Size, weight, power....

Not my first choice, but sometimes dress and circumstances cause me to carry my Ruger LCP.

Looks like Centerfire Systems dredged the bottom of the river for these used guns.

The state police periodically auction off seized firearms after court proceedings are finished. Maybe that’s where they came from. But I’m not sure any self-respecting gang banger would carry one.

    Major virtue of a revolver

Simple to operate, easy to maintain. And as you point out, not much to worry about regarding the bullet profile.
