    CCW holder 1, Thug 0

See, now if he was in a bar, or even most restaurants, he wouldn't be able to legally carry there, thank God it was an AA mtg where they rarely sell alcohol for consumption on premises. Also, good thing the mtg wasn't being held in a school, gvt bldg, or a medical facility, or all three of...

    ABC Nailed it!

Funny how the place in FL you can buy guns on any street corner for $60, but somehow closing the 'gun show loophole' in VA will also solve this type of problem? You know, if they take all the guns from law abiding citizens and never sell another gun in the US, the criminals will still have...

Concerned over failing electronic locks or EMP disabling them? How bout extra keypad?

Too many posts to quote directly, but thanks for the feedback. To highlight a couple general thoughts w/ a response... Yes, I understand that things could go wrong down inside the lock that a keypad won't fix, however my thinking was that the most susceptible component imo also happens to be...

Concerned over failing electronic locks or EMP disabling them? How bout extra keypad?

So theoretically then, if the extra keypad was shielded somehow, to ensure it survived, that might work? How easy/hard would that be to do?

Concerned over failing electronic locks or EMP disabling them? How bout extra keypad?

Well, I don't know how it works really, that's why I asked the question. I just remember reading how many people worried about electronic keypad operated locks because of EMPs or other electronic failures, so I thought a spare keypad would solve that concern. I talked to someone at one of the...

Concerned over failing electronic locks or EMP disabling them? How bout extra keypad?

So, I was wondering, I don't know a lot about EMPs for example, but I think that if one ever went off that anything electronic in the area that was running at the time would no longer work, whether it was AC powered or battery powered. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that's the case, wouldn't...

    Planning Ahead

To each his own, just sharing an opinion. You don't go to Vegas talking about what you're gonna do when you lose, you don't compete in sports talking about your next loss, even though it's always a possibility, even if you're playing a better team. Just a different way of looking at things, I...

Looking for online ammo shippers? http://www.gun-deals.com/ammo.php Pick your caliber, set your zip code, then check 'Total Cost Per Round' which will calculate the estimated shipping costs for the quantity selected from multiple vendors. This is a good guide to get you started. Then go to...

    Planning Ahead

no offense, but to me words mean things, and I personally don't like a defeatist attitude among fellow pro2a people... do what you want, but one day maybe you too will learn that words mean things and you can't take them back once spoken, or written, and I tend to speak about things I want to...

    Impact guns...?

I've shopped their online store, got a good deal on a special run glock package awhile back. Some have trouble determining what is or isn't in stock, and when it will come in, I think the best results are had placing a phone order after shopping online to see what you want. Seems a lot of stuff...

    Fear Breeds Gun Sales

Wow, what a dumba$$. So, let's see, we're supposed to rely on the cops to protect us? Who's gonna protect the cops? Seriously, LEOs put their life on the line everyday, and venture into territory and situations w/ a target on their back, and thank God for them. But, when criminals are so...

Sam's Club RSC (safe) might be on sale in some areas 2/18/09

Yeah, that's a good point, if you're not a member, and aren't sure they have it in stock, you can often get around the gate to just look around, then once you see they have it stock, if you wanted it, get a temp or perm membership at that point, or get the friend etc.

Sam's Club RSC (safe) might be on sale in some areas 2/18/09

Yeah you do, in a lot of cases though you can sign up for a trial membership, if you don't want a long term membership. We got one to buy bulk consumables anyway, but you can probably sign up for some sort of trial membership and just buy the safe, if that's all you wanted to do, or go w/ a...

Utah man shoots toilet @ Carl's jr.

FWIW, regarding a few of the serious comments about how to carry into the stall, I've found that w/ an inside the waistband holster, and the right belt, I can leave the belt notched on the very first notch, which is enough to keep the gun in an upright position adjacent to my leg, while still...

Guns stolen from 2 police cars parked 3 blocks apart

I wish I could do that, however, if I want to go to the post office, many other gov bldgs, my kid's school, restaurants that serve alcohol in my two state region, dr's office in sc, anywhere admission is charged in nc, or a whole host of other damn places, then I either have to leave it home for...
