    Texas Toothpick

hso, thanks a lot, that is exactly what I wanted. I have never heard of the matchstick in between the blade and spring trick. This makes so much sense now. Also, that is a really nice collection of toothpicks shown there.

    Texas Toothpick

In various catalouges and on websites I have seen a number of single blade folding knives called "small toothpick". These are almost always 3" folded. I also have seen a few "medium toothpick". These latter are 4 1/4" folded. I have never seen a "large toothpick". I wanted to ask you better...

Where to get new railroad ties for backstop.

OK, I don't post much but I built a great backstop with RR ties and tires. I used the ties to make a 3 sided enclosure, about 6 feet tall, and tapered towards the rear. I also used treated 4x4s sunk into the ground about 3 feet on the inside of the stack to stiffen things up. Then I got a...

Poll: How Do You Clean Your Mosin?

I've always used a lot of Hoppes'. As I was reading this thread I wondered what was the original plan to clean this gunk out? The USSR must have had somthing in mind, WHAT???

    What's the deal with Dunhams?

Back about 15 years ago there were two Dunhams within driving distance. One was as is being described here but the other one was GREAT. The good one was staffed by "gun guys" and when you bought a mil-surp there they were mostly de-cosmolined and the worst I think went to other stores.

    Loading cast 30-30s

Hello, I have recently started casting some of my own bullets as a natural outgrowth of reloading. (OK I'm late to the dance 'cause it's getting hard to get free or even cheap wheel wts) Any way... I have cast and am ready to load some 150gr, .309, gas checked, 30-30s. I have RCBS Cast Bullet...

    Taurus 380 revolver

I believe that you can fire the revolver without the moon clips but you will have to poke the brass out of each chamber of the cylinder. The ejector will not touch the cases because they are rimless.

    Broken 642

I am sorry your S+W broke. I guess I'm ignorant... why would you set out to dry-fire the revolver 3,000 times?

    .45 SWC or TC

I was wondering how many of you load semi-wadcutters or trunc-cones in .45 ACP? Have you had any feeding problems? I've just always used and/or loaded RN. I see them on the Missouri Bullet and Oregon Trail site and I just wonder...

    Help Scope 'slipping'?

It may be your scope is dead but... if it is just loose it is quick and easy to fix. That is why I would check that first.

    Help Scope 'slipping'?

First thing to do is to check all your mounting screws,( bases, rings) and use Loctite Blue to keep them tight.

    Lead boolit questions

Has anybody here used both Missouri Bullet and Laser Cast? I have used and liked Laser Cast but I noticed Missouri Bullet is cheaper. I just wonder if they are worth the price difference. And just to be sure I understand, loading either one to .357 mag velocities is OK? I was going to buy some...

    Cartridges or components?

I was wondering... What do you think about this and why. I guess we all have a minimum number of loaded rounds on hand for our favorite guns but past that; is it better to just go all out and load up everything you have or just keep your minimum and then hold components in reserve. In my case I...

    Guns and roller coasters

I think it's your choice if you trust your holster. The reason I had to reply was reading Saxon Pig's post and then his signature line (sort of a divergence).

Opinions - concealed carry for small female

I will suggest a Taurus .380 revolver. I just bought one and it is amazingly easy to conceal. It is also very light which aids in concealment. It is pleasant to shoot so maybe your friend will practice enough to shoot well. I know it is a .380 so anything worth shooting is worth shooting five...

    .380 revolver

OK, I am not a gun writer but I did buy the .380 revolver that started this thread. It comes in stainless or blue and I got the blue. It is actually a nice even not too shiny black. My pistol has no imperfections in the finish. It comes with five 'star clips'. Maybe star not moon because they...

    .380 revolver

Okie 45 posted a link to Bud's Gun Shop and that included a review from someone who'd bought one of these .380 revolvers. He rated it very highly and he says it comes with 5 clips. I think I'm going to go ahead and get one. I'll post about how I like it. It will be a couple weeks before I get...

    .380 revolver

I have seen Taurus' e-catalog and they are showing a .380, 5 shot revolver. Seems to me this would be a great BUG, or hideout gun. I've been all over the website and can't find the spec sheet they usually put up with barrel length, sights, etc. Now, with an ACP cartridge they will almost...
