    I have owned and shot Compacts for a number of years. IMO they are great pistols and are capable of shooting better than I am able. I have found them to be totally reliable.

    safari. Arms 1911 model

    When you say "finger groove", do you mean the projection on the front of the grip below the trigger guard? Near as I recall, they made two like that; the Matchmaster and the Enforcer. Have never shot a Safari Arms 1911 so cannot comment on them.

    Speed Six is a sweet ccw gun

    IMHO the only drawback of the Speed Six is its weight, other than that it is a terrific revolver.

    Do any of you guys carry in a coat pocket?

    A S&W 640 or 642 in my parka pocket. Pocket is too large for a holster but the revolver is secure and readily accessible.

    I had hoped to do more shooting when I retired, but it did not work out that way. Too many chores and obligations got in the way.
