    Essential gear you never use

The powder trickler's been in the attic for 30+ years. You can made a case puller in 5 minutes. 1/2" or 5/8" nut, 1x1" piece of 1/4" steel with a 1/4" hole in the middle; or a stack of washers. Drill and tap the primer pocket for a 1/4" bolt, course or fine thread. 7/16" wrench.

    H&R model 929 .22 revolver

The year of manufacture is coded in the serial number by the first letter or letters. The sequence starts with "A" in 1940 to "Z" in 1963, skipping "O", as it's often mistaken for zero and "Q". They went to a pair of letters in 1964, starting with "AA" and ending with "AY" in 1982, skipping...

    20 Gauge wad height question

The Remington SP20 wad might work as it's a 1 oz. rated wad. Ballistic Products has quite a bit of speciality reloading products that you don't find everywhere. Check them out. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/ Bye Jack

Need help with 12ga. load, please.

There's tables in Lyman #4 on pressure changes with primer and wad changes and they are impressive. It's got the shell identification diagrams too, as mentioned above. Lyman has announced the #5 shotshell reloading manual, but I don't know if it's on the shelves yet. Bye Jack

.308 bullets in .303 British, any tips?

A long time ago I found that Nosler .308 165 grain Partitions were twice as accurate as any .311 bullet C-I-L made in my No. 4 Mk I/2. If your MatchKings are accurate, keep on shooting them. Bye Jack

    Straightline seating die

"It is not a competition die because it does not have the micrometer stem on top. That sounds like a Vickerman. The professional reloader who got me started used one. http://www.castingstuff.com/gmw_products.htm Bye Jack

    Trouble Loading Remington Brass

Your un-cannelured brass likely was made for wadcutters. As wadcutters seat much more deeply in the case than regular bullets, the cases can't have any wall taper until you're right at the bottom. Learnt my lesson when I tried seating fairly hard home cast wadcutters in +P Federal nickel brass...

    Explanation of Canadian Gun Laws

UPS. Surely you jest. That's the American outfit that promises delivery to your door, but dumps it off with some other tranfer company, which charges you for shipping too, and nearest depot is half a tank of gas away.

    Anschutz imported by C.I.L.

The C-I-L 470 was listed in the 1971 catalogue. Your shotgun sounds like one of the numerous label guns by Janssen. I've seen "the Interchangeable" label on Neumann Bros. guns too. The Janssen & Sons guns are plain jane old doubles with no redeeming features. The Neumann Bros. is a bit...

    .303 Brit

I'm afraid I haven't trying Rl-15 with 150 grain bullets, but there's a part box of Hornadys on the bottom of the shelf. Another project. ;) Bye Jack

    .303 Brit

Alliant Reloder 15 is in the sweet spot for the heavier 174-180 grain bullets. Slower than 4064, faster than 4350. In theory, 4064 should work for 150 grain bullets, but I've had better luck with 3031. Bye Jack

Anyone know anything about the old .32 Rimfire's ballistics?

C-I-L of Canada was the last to manufacture the larger rimfires in North America. From their 1971 catalogue, and probably rifle velocities. .25 Stevens Short - 65 grains @ 945 fps .25 Stevens Long - 65 grains @ 1130 fps .32 Short RF - 80 grains @ 945 fps .32 Long RF - 80 grains @ 1050 fps...

The 5 1/2 is a magnum primer, about the same strength as the CCI 550, but not as hot as the Winchester WSPM. Bye Jack

Does The New Canadian Prime Minister Pack Heat ???

He's concealing and he's packing a considerable overhang of his waistline. Just to be perfectly clear, it's courtesy of McDonald's, not Smith&Wesson.:p Bye Jack
