I think it is an all together excellent cartridge. I've put more 38 Specials downrange than any other CF pistol round.

IF it is in fact illegal to carry in a post office, you are innocent until proven guilty and you said you carry concealed. Chances are you would not need your piece until outside or possibly getting into your vehicle anyway. Better to have and not need than the other way around.

10-22 jamming.... My guess would be the 30 round magazine is the culprit. If it feeds OK with the factory 10 rounders I would be convinced of it. Also I don't think Ruger would honor their warranty with anything but factory magazines....

Sometimes you will see slight differences in load data with these powders for the same cartridge in various manuals. I suspect this is due to nothing more than the lot to lot variances (usually slight) with all smokeless powders.

I have yet to load for 9mm but I've had good luck with W-231/ HP38 in 38, 357 mag, 40 S&W, 44 Mag, and 45 acp. Works best for target to moderate velocity loads. For full power loads I use slower burning powders like Blue Dot or H-110.

40 S&W powders.... I don't think you can reach 920 fps out of a 4 inch pistol with lower pressure loads. This velocity level is more of a moderate power/pressure load with any powders I can think of. I am presently working up a couple loads for my FNP-40 which also has a 4 inch barrel...

I think they shoot just as well as the plain base bullets. They can be messy through a conventional luber sizer. This can be avoided by using Lee liquid or similar lubes. I like gas check designs (especially for rifle calibers) because I can shoot practice velocity loads without the gas checks...
