Brings another story to mind:
I'm with my wife at the gun counter of a big-box outdoors store window shopping. This biker couple catches my attention (all decked out in black leather, chaps, red bandannas, biker tattoos, the whole nine yards) as they walk up to the counter, and after much...
If you lack the strength or manual dexterity to drop a magazine or rack a slide, you don't need to be handling firearms, much less carrying one concealed, period.
I think there are lots of ranges that are struggling to survive and stay profitable, with the rising cost of real estate, increasing population density, and noise ordinances and they are on a shoe-string budget when it comes to payroll. The range I go to has no RO, unless you count the owner...
The P3AT is about half the size of the G26, which would make it a great pocket carried BUG. Unless you're wearing really loose pants, the G26 is too big to pocket carry.
Even if you comply with the BG, there's no guarantee they won't shoot you anyway, so I'm not just gonna stand there and go down without a fight. If you attempt to talk your way out of the situation, you might not ever know whether your attempt to deescalate the situation by compliance was...
Only if you're a sniper.
Don't think I'd depend on my CCW to stop someone with one shot, no matter what caliber it is. Keep shooting until the threat stops.
I'll react to the situation at hand if is forced upon me, but won't go looking for a BG in another area to try and stop him, especially if he's toting a rifle. If my actions end up making me a hero, so be it. I just did what was necessary to protect myself and/or my family, not to be heroic.
This was what I would say:
I was in fear of my life, and was afraid I (or/and my family) would be hurt or killed.
You will have my full cooperation within 24 hours after I have contacted my attorney.
Until that time, I have no further comments regarding this incident.
I've been to an indoor range up here once, and after leaving promised myself that I wouldn't be back. It was poorly lit, and the ventilation sucked. My lungs were burning from all of the contaminants and particulate matter in the air, and I had to go outside for fresh air a few times to avoid...
Without getting specific, I'd say it's anything you cant shoot reliably, because its too small/large of a gun and doesn't fit in your hand, or it's too big a caliber to shoot well.
My Ruger P90. It was the first pistol I bought when I trurned 21, and I shot it so much that I realized I needed to downgrade to something of smaller caliber. I traded it for my G17, which was substantially cheaper to shoot. That .45 is the only one I've ever parted with.
40K rounds and counting through my G17, along with at least as many disbursed through the other 7. Stone cold reliable. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and i'll sacrifice beauty for reliabilty anytime. Welcome to the Glock side.
