I've seen more than one victim of blunt force trauma in the ER and EMS and that motivates me to NOT want to be on the receiving end of a baseball bat. Not to make light of this, but there is a certain Darwinian aspect to these types of stories.

Thanks again for all the good feedback! Gonna have to take her shopping. As far as the hearing protection goes, we both wear plugs and muffs both as it is now. I'm trying to keep what I have and I don't want to lose her hearing - she's my hearing aid!
