    The new "Thunderbird" FROM K&D

Some of you may recall my thread on another forum titled "A different type of holster" In it I described an idea about a combination IWB/OWB holster by simply removing the clips and having belt slots behind them. Well it soon came to my attention that a couple different holster makers had this...

Installing a Muzzle brake on AR15

I have recently traded for 2 AR's, never had them before and now I want more. The trades were Bushmaster HBAR and a DPMS Sweet16 with SS Bull barrel. I want to have the ends turned down and threaded so I can add a muzzle brake / suppressor. How much should this cost to have done. Should I take...

    Which AR brand and why?

May I suggest going to AR15.COM there is a ton of info over there. I too am new to AR'S and have a 16 year old who just bought his first SKS. I have traded for two AR's in the past 2 weeks. First was a Bushy and the sec was a DPMS. Have you looked at CMMG Bargain Bin rifles? For under $600 they...

What .223 bolt gun should I get?

Why a bolt? A Mini 14 fits the majority of your needs and is a blast to shoot. Unless you are into bullseye shooting the loss of accuracy is not that great. My mini that I had would drop pop cans at 100 yards with proper optics. Good luck I am just starting to reload 223. NCH

    What .22 LR?

I bought my son a Henry lever action youth rifle and it is a awesome rifle. I would not hesitate to buy another one, the Golden Boy would be a great choice. NCH

    Ccmg

Unless you plan on shooting above 75 grain bullets there is no need for a 1n7, if it is going to be for target shooting, plinking etc... the 55 gr will always be the cheapest way to go. I have had guns all my life but I am new to AR's. With the elections coming closer and me being paranoid, I...

    Black Stainless

S&W made a few revs in Black Stainless and one day I am going to have one. I know there's is not a coating it is actually the color of the steel itself. Not sure if Ruger is the same way, but I bet it is. I have been told it is just as durable as reg SS. A email to Ruger should clear it up. NCH

A Question For The Moderators RE: CC

I consider the High Road a general gun forum, if you intrests are strictly concealed carry there are forums just devoted to that. I am a member of several gun forums and gather different info from each of them. NCH

SW Mod 629 is being considered

I have two 629's one 4' and one 8 3/8" with Leupold scope. I love these two guns, if you don't mid toting the extra ounces I prefer the reg 629 with full underlug as the weight helps reduce felt recoil. You can't go wrong with a 629. NCH

    pocket pistols

The majority of the guns mentioned in this thread may be fine for pocket carry in jeans or cargo pants but not dress slacks. I have a beautiful Model 60 snub but you can forget putting it in a pair of dress slacks and call it concealed, no matter the holster. If you want a pocket gun for dress...

What do u guys think of these sights???

I looked into these about a year ago and those that had tried them found it very difficult to actually align the sights, although the site makes it all appear magical. By far the consesus was to take the money and apply it to the TFO sights which is what I plan on doing. Good Luck NCH

    Draw to fire time

I always been told under 2 sec drawn from hands above the head and holster in OWB strong side. I always thought that was funny as who walks around with their hands in the air. I think timing may be going a bit far, so don't get hung up on times, what you should worry about is a smooth draw in a...

    I admit it...the .40 hurts....

I have carried a G23 for 11 years and believe it is one of the finest SD weapons for CC on the market today. Some find the recoil to much, that's why they make a 9mm. NCH

    whats with 124 Hydrashok +P+

I have seen the results of 44 Mag Hydrashoks on deer sized game and I am confident they will do the job if I place them correctly. Don't get all hung up on +P or +P+, or ++PP++ or whatever else, much of this is a marketing skeem. NCH
