I appreciate all of the suggestions. I think I'm going to pick up a S&W M&P22 Compact. It will be a while until they are ready to shoot a compact 9mm auto. The S&W will give them the feel for it without the recoil.
I'll probably just get the S&W P22 compact and use it for training. They likely won't touch a 9mm for a few years yet. But the format will give them a familiarity with the modern compact auto, so stepping into a single stack 9mm should be intuitive.
My teen girls are ready to start some pistol training. I'd like to start them on .22 to get them used to handling a pistol before moving up to and EDC 9mm. Ideally I would like to have the transition be ergonomically identical.
I'm looking at the Shield and .22 Compact, but they don't look...
I like my LCR-38. It's a couple ounces less than the .357 variant -- and that matters to me. The trigger is velvety, and the organic shape makes it easy to conceal in a pocket.
You get a new rifle in a new caliber. Where do you start and what steps do you take to develop the most accurate load for that specific gun? Please be detailed, and share your tricks!

Americans never give up your guns.
These days, there are few few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally...
The Revenge scope is slightly cheaper than the Revolution because some parts are made in the Philippines. But the scopes are assembled in the USA. All of them have the same lifetime warranty.
I ended up getting the Icon with "field grade" walnut version in .243 Win. $550 + $25 shipping seems like a steal for a rifle of that quality. I had thought about the Weathershield version, but was turned off by the face that it really wasn't stainless -- just coated regular steal. Besides...
Believe it or not (I was surprised), my wife was a voice of reason in the decision. She knows me well enough to know that I'm not a trophy hunter... in fact, I really don't enjoy deer hunting at all (except for the time spent with dad). I hunt for meat because we need it. On the other hand...
I don't see any advantage to the .270 Win, then.
So the .308 has a grand history behind it and more knock-down energy for those over 300-yard shots I won't be taking. The .243 seems to be commonly available ammunition, and it actually has a flatter trajectory out to 300 yards. Hunting ammo is...
