    AIM surplus

I have bought several thirty round AK mags from them in the last month. They are all in great shape. The last time I ordered from them I got a case of ammo and two buffers. When the ammo arrived the box had been torn and the buffers were missing. The two bufferes were sent out at no...

What is this rifle worth and where can I get more info on it?

that rifle is fubared, pretty much anyway. would take love and time to fix it. I would not give you 200 bucks for it. But to each his own.

    Folks, I'm now convinced!

I shipped a 995 back to them a while back. Hi Point told me to write "Machined Parts" on the box. Not sure how I would handle it now after reading this thread.

    Cleaning Garand clips

my clips are not funked up, but just have the parkerized coating. I use steel wool on them. Takes less than a minute. Rub them down on the inside until they feel nice and smooth.

    OK...so I finally have my M1.

the booklet that came with my CMP Garand mentions ammo. It only says to not use bullet grains over 180. I have been shooting Prvi Partizen ball ammo out of mine now with no problems at all. I dunno, but I think if it was bad to shoot commercial ammo, the CMP would have said so????

    1907 style sling question

here is how the sling was put on my Garand. A friend who used to be on a Navy shooting team put the sling on the rifle. I will defer to how he likes it. The muzzle is to the left in the pic

    Best .22 for a youngster

I always say a child's first birthday is for the parent's ego, not for the child. I guess buying a rifle in this situation proves it. Don't take it personal, please. Of course buy him a rifle if you want to. (I would recommend a Savage Cub Mini Youth as a first rifle, but I also recommend...

Trying it again before the first comes through.

My field grade is a a HRA. Great shooter. I don't even mind that the stock is beat to heck. Just means I don't need to worry about it so much. The bore is great, tons of life left in it. Was going to order a new stock set, but I got to thinking that this old battle rifle was better...

    M1 Carbine Mags and stuff

I have two 30 round mags, they are both kind of iffy. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. But I am not going into battle with them. Kind of fun at the range. Seems like I will never run out of ammo when using them. Lots of good sources for accessories. Just google it up.

How often do you clean your marlin model 60?

mine went 20 years without being stripped for cleaning. Seems no worse for wear.

    .30 Carbine

I have been told no lead bullets in my carbine. Clogs the gas ports. Is this true?? LOL Just saw the two previous posts to mine. gmta I guess I am participating in the big ammo Catch 22. I have a fair supply of carbine rounds (near 1000),but I am scared of shooting it as it is...

    Single Action Revolvers, .22s

I dunno about the Ruger SAS. While it is heirloom quality and all I am not impressed by accuracy or the trigger at all. Mine shoots .22 mags very accurately, but not so much with regular .22's. Fine for plinking but I don't see it winning any bullseye competitions. Maybe I just suck at...

    Tube fed magazine opinions

I bought a Glenfield Marlin Model 60 back in 1978. It is tube fed and holds 18 long rifle rounds in the tube. The rifle is easy to load and reliable . I have never has an issue with the follower or rod that holds the follower, the spring feels as sturdy now as it did 30 years ago. You...

    Dating an M1 carbine

Isn't the date on the barrel just behind the front sight? It is probably a mixmaster, most M1's are.
