Getting rid of my copy of ABC's of reloading manual

I found the book utterly worthless as a reloading manual. At least it was on topic, making it just a little bit better than Better Homes and Garden's magazine for a reloading reference material. That said, if anyone wants it, send me a PM and I'll mail it off to you and you can send me a...

    value of reloading

I'm gonna go ahead and open a post on the value of reloading once a week, just so we can keep the discussion going. Oh, no, wait... that's still not going to make anyone either 1) read a sticky or 2) do a search for "value of reloading" before starting a thread on a subject that has been...

    AR lower reciever

you know... some fellas build lower recievers on milling machines out of 80% complete forged aluminum. hmmm.... those are only $30 (well, if you've got a milling machine and a little time) Now, if you've got a CNC Milling machine, you just became my best friend. Program it, sit back, drink...

    Remington 870 Blew Up!

rantingredneck: this isn't a place for scientific analysis! ;-) If it were me I'd say "wow!" count my fingers and toes and say "that was cool!" then I'd get the barrel mounted, and just say it was probably a barrel obstruction or Elmer Fudd got a hold of my shotgun. Who knows. Cool...

    Bulk 9mm ammo prices?

if you reload, you can make 1000 rounds of 9mm 125 grain Lead RN for about $50. (brassmanbrass.com has 1000 9mm slugs for $34 delivered, primers are 1.8 cents a piece at www.powdervalleyinc.com and powder is like $1 per 1000 rounds) You can put about 4000 9mm rounds into a milsurp 50 cal...

    dirty guns - unsafe?

Has anyone ever hurt themselves or their firearm by shooting it while it was dirty....such as neglecting to clean it for a long time? First hand experiences or links to articles would be great!

    Bore Snakes

boresnakes are basically only good as one HUGE patch. I wouldn't call it a cleaning device. If the wimpy little brush can get it out of your bore, you didn't need to clean it in the first place. Get some hoppe's, a cheap kit at walmart and you're set. bore snakes are one of those things...

Expanding my site into reloading (need help)

squeky: plain and simple, if you build a site for reloading components it will be only a few places that will show up. www.powdervalleyinc.com has everything the cheapest, from slugs to brass(common calibers, 45, 9mm, 40sw and 38). The don't sell much for shotgunners though...

Rookie SF police officer shoots himself to death while fooling with "unloaded" gun!

horrible. same thing as a 23 year old getting behind the wheel of a car and driving too fast, it was a risk to do what he did and he ended up losing the bet. I feel for his family.

good write up scout26. If google would have shown a link to anything like that, then I wouldn't have ever started this thread. Thanks fellas.

    12 Gauge Reload Recipes

good information. thanks fellas. I'm gathering from what's been said that basically a smart shotshell reloader will find a recipe he likes and just stick with it. That makes sense, don't fix it if it ain't broke. From the recipes I'm seeing, AA shells are the most universal and seem to...

Historically have ammo prices ever dropped?

I'm so tired of making economic arguments. when demand goes down so will price. On a personal level, my ammo cost when WAY down recently...I bought a lee turret press. I can shoot for free on a Saturday afternoon with 4 friends (they gave me a case of beer each and load up on my ammo...so...

    12 Gauge Reload Recipes

I've searched THR, and to my surprise, didn't find much information on reloading 12 gauge shells for a beginner. I found one thread.... http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=232590&highlight=gauge+reload+data and it got into an argument about substituting components vs. not and even...

    Benelli Nova/Super Nova

the Nova is a good shotgun, handles 3 1/2" IIRC and has a pretty neat button on the foregrip that allows you to cycle the action without chambering another shell. I need another one! I sold mine for $200 about 4-5 years ago, and it had that mercury recoil reducer.

what if you harmed a loved one?

I don't cut tomatoes any more because I've cut my fingertips. I refuse to use post-it notes due to multiple papercuts. I took the garage door openers off my garage doors because there's a risk that they could crush a child or pet. I don't buy peanut butter, raisins or toys for my kids due to...

Debate help: Legitimate reason for a private citizen to own high capacity magazines

just tell him he's right, then let him argue it out with the NRA folks. Why are you debating with some fella because of a blog entry? He's not a threat to our constitutional right to own a gun. There's no way to win an argument with a blogger. They wouldn't take the time to type something...
