I found the book utterly worthless as a reloading manual. At least it was on topic, making it just a little bit better than Better Homes and Garden's magazine for a reloading reference material.
That said, if anyone wants it, send me a PM and I'll mail it off to you and you can send me a...
Has anyone ever hurt themselves or their firearm by shooting it while it was dirty....such as neglecting to clean it for a long time?
First hand experiences or links to articles would be great!
I've searched THR, and to my surprise, didn't find much information on reloading 12 gauge shells for a beginner. I found one thread....
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=232590&highlight=gauge+reload+data
and it got into an argument about substituting components vs. not and even...
I've heard that when shooting indoors without hearing protection, you have to open your mouth to keep from 'blowing out your eardrums'.
This was also addressed in the movie 'Dog Soldiers' when a mp5 was used from a closet.
Myth or truth?
I'm wondering, since a .223 and a .308 are both very very loud without hearing protection and make my ears ring after just a few rounds, what do soldiers do for hearing protection?
Do they just yell at each other for the rest of the day after combat? What about urban combat where they have...
Could I load .177 bb's (made for air pistols) into a shotcup?
Supposedly, these copperheads are copper plated steel, so load like steel shot is what I figure.
Also, does anyone know what a .177 caliber translates to in shot size? Looks like maybe a #4 to me.
I would like to get a pistol for my wife that has some real beauty to it.
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....but she thinks that the glocks and my XD are kind of like the "1980's chevy trucks compared to new trucks" her words, not mine.
She really enjoys shooting my XD...
I've seen some crazy gizmo's that catch your brass for pistols, but I don't find them too practical.
I've tried laying out a 8' x 20' tarp and it still doesn't seem to catch about 80% of the brass.
We spend a lot of time picking up the brass after we're done shooting, and I'm curious if...
I'd like to start handloading some buckshot rounds in 12 gauge... as cheaply as possible.
Is there a kit that would knock out the primer, reseat a primer and resize the shell only? Even using a mallet.... I'm not talking about massive quantities.
Also, what is the difference in the wads...
For all you fellas who saw this...
Caliber Grain Description Price/1000 shipped
9mm 122 gr. RNFPL - Meister Bullets $29.00

The actual price is $34.... including shipping or something I guess. Still not a bad deal, but I don't deal...
I've got an H&K 9mm USP with polygonal rifling that I'm loading for. After reading a whole bunch of information (including a thread I started here) I've decided that the only way to go is with FMJ, not plated and not lead.
Where can I find the most inexpensive FMJ bullets for handloading...
This weekend I recieved my bullet puller from MidwayUSA.
First thing we did.... pulled apart about a dozen 45acp mistakes. ;-) not an easy task...had to beat the heck out of them.
Then, we got curious and pulled apart some brand new Winchester White box ball ammo. The 45acp uses about...
http://www.rexpowder.com/
found this Rex powder stuff on www.Powdervalleyinc.com and it's pretty darned cheap. I'm wondering if anyone's used it for pistol cartridges?
I've loaded up a few hundred 9mm cartridges with 125gr Lead TCBB and 3.7 grains of titegroup.
My pa shoots a taurus pt99 (same as baretta 92, AFAIK) and he's concerned with the lead fouling related to his gun and 9mm lead bullets. I haven't shot any lead 9mm's before, only 45acp by the...
I've heard you can't shoot cast lead bullets from a polygonally rifled firearm such as a Glock or a H&K pistol.
After reading the wiki on polygonal rifling, and doing a bit of research on google and the H&K moderated forum, I'm even more confused. Some say that lead builds up faster on...
I heard this weekend about a massive gun show in Tulsa, OK. Supposedly it takes two whole days to just browse everything.
Anyone know if this exists? If so, what is it called so I can find more information on google.
I'm loading 9mm under a 125 gr Lead Truncated Cone bullet with 3.7 grains of Titegroup. I'm looking at load data for 45acp with Titegroup to be about 4grains.
It doesn't make sense to me that a case so much smaller than 45acp would use almost as much powder and the cases look fairly full...
Does anyone know if wolf .223 steel case ammo is boxer or berdan primed?
I know someone who's got 1000 empty cases, is there any way to tell if it's reloadable easily, as in how can I tell if it is boxer or berdan primed?
Will it hurt my depriming die to try to deprime it?
Say I've got a few old car batteries laying around. Could I drain the acid from them and use the lead to make cast bullets?
I'm just a little concerned that the lead isn't really lead any more, or it's lead that may be coated with mercury or something which would kill me when I start...
