    Mossburg Maverick, Worth the $150?

I've seen them at Wally World and K-Mart for about $150. Are they sturdy and worth the money or should I pass? Also, are there aftermarket barrels and extended tube magazines?

Pictures of my new Yugo SKS!

This picture is right after I got it home and placed it on the deck. Note the cosmoline sheen over it. This picture is after cleaning the exterior, mag well, gas piston, and bolt group. I've still got an hour or more of detailing yet to go. The rifle itself is unissued, I'd doubt...

    My Yugo 59/66!!

I bought it yesterday morning at a local FFL. Last week, I'd looked at a pair on his milsurp rack, but the better of the two had been purchased. I inspected the remaining rifle, which had clearly seen service time, and tried to haggle a bit on the $149 price. He wouldn't come off the price, but...

    Never Mind!!

I can't get the gas piston on my 59/66 to release. Which direction should I apply pressure to get it to do so? Also, does the gas adjustment button need to be in a particular position? Edit: Idiot me forgot to move the grenade sight up, which of course, held the gas piston assembly in place...

    Yugo 59/66 Checklist

Tomorrow AM, I'm getting a Yugo SKS. The internals on the thing is drowned in cosmoline (love the smell!) and I wondered what'd be the best option for removing it? I'm considering taking the bolt assembly to an auto repair shop and paying them to run it through a parts washer. I'd imagine...

SAR 3 at $350, pass or play?

I've heard mixed reviews on these 5.56 Kalashnikov clones. Has anyone had any good or bad experience with them? I'm looking into it for the ammo availability, accuracy, and light recoil. I inspected the rifle and there's no sight cant or any apparent manufacturing issues.

    Corrosive ammunition

How do you go about cleaning your rifle after using corrosive ammo? I've heard regular ammonia works, but do you cut it with water or use it straight?

    K-31 Schmidt-Rubin: Pass or Play?

I've handled a K-31 and found it to be the most comfortable C&R I've experienced. I love the ergonomics of it and the balance is great as well. The receiver is well constructed and the straight pull action is great. Here is the deal: ammo is expensive as heck. Any suggestions for affordable surplus?

    M48 vs. 24/47?

A local dealer has both rifles with accessories, excellent condition, for $129. Now, which one would you purchase and why? I love both and will likely get one of each, but I am deciding on the first purchase. Thanks.

    Got my CZ-70!

Well, after a week, I picked up my CZ-70 on Friday. I have not had a chance to get range time yet, but when I do I'll collect the basic data on it. With tax and all I paid about $110 for the little pistol. When I got it home, I disassembled it and cleaned it inside and out. There was a little...

    Brady "Instant" Checks

OK, I haven't been here in a while because of study for insurance licensing. Yesterday, I went to my local gun-and-pawn to pick up my CZ-70 which had been in layaway. I fill out the paperwork, pay the money, and wait for the electronic instant check from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation...

    Cz 70

I put a CZ 70 .32ACP in layaway today. Total price, tax and all, was $109. Not bad at all. The little gun has good ergonomics and it really seems to fit well. The trigger drags a bit, but I'm going to disassemble and lubricate it before taking any action on it. Any of you guys own one of these...

    Cetme

Has anyone had any experience with the CETME's that are out? If so, which ones are the better made? I've looked long at one and essentially love the HK91 type rifles, but I can not get a preban as the darn things have shot up over $1500.

    L1A1, CETME, HK 91 clones

I've been looking on various gun sale sites at these .308 battle rifles and was wondering if anyone had any input on the quality/fit/finish on these clones? I have seen the Imbel L1A1's on various sites for around $600, but the CETME's are MUCH less. Is this a quality issue? Thanks.

    EAA Witness autos

A local gun-and-pawn just got in a ton of new EAA (Tanfoglio) Witness pistols in 9mm, .45 ACP, & .40. Does anyone have any experience with these? I know they are CZ-75 knockoffs. Thanks.:)

Decisions- used Ruger Security 6 or Taurus 635?

A local gun-and-pawn has two nice .357 pistols. One is a NIB blue steel Taurus 635 snub for $269 and the other a Ruger Security 6, used at 85-90% condition, 4" barrel for $199. I checked the cylinder timing on the Ruger and it seems fine. Any opinions??
