    Mosin Nagant M44 Range Report

You might want to try this improvement: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu63.htm There are some other MN articles at the site. Geoff Who does not own a Mosin-Nagant. One of those east european Mausers in .243 has caught my eye.

    charter arms bulldog

You can get the base model S&W 2" snubby for $350 at a "S&W Factory Sale" at the local gun dealers here in FL. I've seen Charters at $299. I think I'd get the S&W even if I had to wait. Geoff Who has an old 1970's S&W, bought new, traveling companion for a long time.

.32 ACP Tomcat -- trustworthy gun?

I've seen mixed reviews over the last few years. It is discontinued. Geoff Who likes the looks, but not the caliber.

mythbusters episode last night ... shooting locks ... and full-auto through the floor

Gee! You think they have a Government level budget? Be glad they can afford what they do. Geoff Who notes even Government Budgets are limited.

    S&W 908 or Kahr P9 for CCW

I rented the 908 at a range. It threw brass in my face. I bought a KP9094N. No regrets. Geoff Who is also working with a S&W M&P 9c...

Should you be legally allowed to shoot someone over property?

The question was posed: "Someone breaks into your home and steals... your wallet as you walk in. He's running out the back door. Should you be allowed to shoot him to retrieve your property? Why or why not?" Yes, of course. We are talking ID theft here, one of the most heinous crimes...

    Concealed Carry Permit pays off

What worries me is the requirements of the license. If he had a FL license in St. Louis was it valid? The receprocity rules are confusing at best. Remember, even if the permit is recognized, LOCAL LAW still applies. Geoff Who wants bounties on criminals.

A bit of boost for the .40 S&W

Pity it's SF. I would like to see the Zoo sue the parents of all three, followed by a Police Department action for endangering the responding officers. Geoff Who knows it's not going to happen. Sigh.

    Any salvation for the .25ACP?

Geronimo45 asked, "An interesting study in semi-opposites would be the .455 Webley cartridge (ultimate in big and slow), throwing a slug around 260 grains at around 650 FPS... because the British had the notion, apparently, that the slower the bullet travelled, the more likely it would be to rip...

    Gander Mountain's Used Guns

The Gander Mountain price on receiving guns is $35, even if it comes from another GM. I find their prices to be a high variable. I cruise the used and check the sales. Geoff Who bought a $50 shirt at GM for $15 on sale and a $20 hat for $6. The amazing thing is, they close out summer...

    Any salvation for the .25ACP?

rcmodel commented: "One-Shot Stop? Who says you have to only shoot the BG one time? 7 rounds of .25 ACP is 315%!" Probabilities are not cumulative. If you get multiple percentages combined the formula works roughly: 45% on the first round, 45% of the remainder of 100% on the second round...

    sig 220 vs ruger p90

Take a look at some of the new .45s on the market. The FN, the S&W M&P and the Beretta PX-4. There is also a new compact SIG 220 on the market. http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=50&productid=166 Geoff Who notes smaller is often better.

    Any salvation for the .25ACP?

Unfortunately the average size of criminals has increased with the average size of society. The .25 ACP is sorely lacking either penetration or expansion. Suggest you look at a Beretta Tomcat in .32 ACP, loaded with W-W silver tips. Geoff Whose smallest pistol is a 9mm.

    Firearms industry

The market economy is the perfect tool for sorting out the best. The definition of "best" is a high variable, cross reference Kel-Tec and Hi-point. What worries me is Federal agencies putting their thumbs on the scales of commerce. Geoff Who is not a fan of Government over-regulation and the...
