The Future of "Assault Rifle" Bans

When a Supreme Court ruling can be so easily subverted like what just happened in NY, the Supreme Court is meaningless. Imagine if the abortion ruling went the other way, and abortion was upheld as it had been for nearly 50 years. Imagine if 15 of the 50 states said “we don’t care what the...

How did vintage plain clothes detectives carry their sidearms?

Yeah. Many uniform cops carried a J frame off duty or as a backup, but if you made detective, a 2” snub was almost mandatory. It was like a badge of office. I always saw guys with them jn pancake holsters on strong side.

    Preferred DA/SA?

Cougar .45 is another used option.

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

Honestly, I think this is the beginning of the end. The rabid anti-gunners will say and do anything to meet their goal. They know they’re misleading people. They don’t care. The people in the middle are swayed by the unrelenting anti-gun bias the media and the politicians spew. The pro-gun...

    Nostalgic Offering from Ruger

But if it’s a commemoration, it should look as close to the original as possible, so the red medallions would be appropriate.

How Often To Remove Trigger Group on 870?

Reminds me of the ONE time I disassembled a Ruger Mark 2. This was before the prevalence of YouTube videos. Took me forever to get it back together.

How Often To Remove Trigger Group on 870?

Maybe. But certainly not for routine cleaning and certainly not for long term storage.

How Often To Remove Trigger Group on 870?

I’d never use WD40 on any of my guns.

How Often To Remove Trigger Group on 870?

Thanks for all the replies. I bought this shotgun in 2005. I don’t hunt and it’s a very seldom used range toy. I’m talking I doubt there is 500 rounds through it. It had the plastic trigger group all this time and I bought a metal Police trigger group to install. The last time that plastic...

How Often To Remove Trigger Group on 870?

I shoot my 870 very infrequently, but I am pretty OCD about cleaning my guns. I have a Mesa Tactical side saddle on it so removing the trigger is a little more involved than without it. How often do you remove the trigger? Can I just blast it from inside the receiver when the rest of it is apart?

870 Police Trigger Guard and Mesa Tactical Shell Holder Not Fitting

Thank you! Removing that ring allowed me to seat the trigger guard with the pins! Much obliged!

870 Police Trigger Guard and Mesa Tactical Shell Holder Not Fitting

That is exactly the problem! I saw that little clip is blocking it, but I believe the plastic trigger guard has that clip. I installed it so long ago maybe I removed it? How do I remove it? Just use a new air of players?

870 Police Trigger Guard and Mesa Tactical Shell Holder Not Fitting

I don’t know what I did with the original pins. I added the side saddle almost 20 years ago.

870 Police Trigger Guard and Mesa Tactical Shell Holder Not Fitting

I’ve been upgrading my 20 year old 870 Express. I’ve had a Mesa Tactical side saddle on it for probably 15 years and no problems. I bought a metal Police trigger guard in gunbroker and the pins from the Mesa saddle are giving me real issues going through the trigger guard. I finally gave up and...

Remington 870 Trigger Group Disassembly Video

Yea Eh. Probably what I’ll do. I’ll wait till it gets here but there seems to be a bit of rust near the safety. I’ll blast it with brake cleaner first and then sonic clean it before I decide what to do.

Remington 870 Trigger Group Disassembly Video

I have been upgrading my 2004 Remington 870 Express to Police parts. I have an 870 Police trigger group on the way. Is there a good video of taking one down? Couldn’t find one. I’d like to start with a thoroughly clean part. I have a sonic cleaner I can use but it’s always better to take it...

Removing Paint From. Surefire Forend on Shotgun

I don’t care that much, but I figured why get rid of a working flashlight fore end? Replacing the stock would likely be easiest.

Removing Paint From. Surefire Forend on Shotgun

The flashlight can be removed from the fore end, so no worries there. I don’t have a blasting cabinet.

Removing Paint From. Surefire Forend on Shotgun

Local shop has some 870 Police shotguns with Surefire forends. The forend and stock are painted orange. Probably designated as less lethal weapons. How would I get that paint off without damaging the electronics in the forend?

    Is a .38 Special S&W 686 possible?

I guess the method can be overdone, but a brush spinning on low isn’t gonna cause any damage. Of course, never use this method in the bore due to the rifling.
