Well, the thing is it was 2 days ago and I don't remember exactly what it was leading up to it. I just remember being shocked when I saw the powder and the bullet lodged up in it.

I've got a Super Redhawk and Redhawk. The SRH is actually smoother than the King Cobra I've got. The Redhawk needed a trigger job, but total investment in it was only $750.00 and it's now the smoothest trigger I've pulled. Both are very accurate.

It was magtech 260gr jacketed flat point.

As far as testing goes, in a nutshell if I have A) the correct amount of powder B) the bullet seated roughly right (the essense of my Q) C) primer in and bullet secured well can I feel confident to safely test my cartridges?

Ok, that leads me to another question, how do you get a "heavy crimp" on a bullet? The way the local reloader described the set up was to place a factory round in, tighten until it hits the bullet, then tighten a little more and it was good to go. Is there part of this I'm missing?

This thing is an old 7 shot Arminius. I had wondered it pressure was an issue or if that round even generated enough extra pressure to be an issue. It is not a break top revolver.
