    Custom 1911s: Where to look?

Never said Kimber was custom.... but I know some people like em, so added them as an option along with a few others.

    Custom 1911s: Where to look?

I think of custom in a dual manner... 1. Custom fit. The pieces of the firearm were custom fit with one another. When I say custom fit with one another, I am not talking about the local range junkie looking it over, but by a competent and highly trained gunsmith. 2. Custom built. The...

    Custom 1911s: Where to look?

I was playing with a Les Baer at a local shop (Milwaukee), and it was very impressive, but very stiff. I was told that it takes 5,000 rounds to break them in? The Ed Brown was really impressive at the shop. I haven't had the chance to handle a Nighthawk, but I love the aesthetics of...

    Custom 1911s: Where to look?

I don't want to start brand flame war but I am in the market for a nice 1911, production, semi-custom or custom. Which brand, amongst the higher end makers, deserves the closest attention? Which are over rated? And please give reasons (other than my buddy's gun in brand X malfunctioned...

    Interarms Lugers?

Are these interarms lugers the mitchell's mausers of the luger world? I see them sold "NIB", etc, for far cheaper than what I suspect a more genuine luger would be, and they appear to be in tip-top condition. I've never seen one in person, so I haven't had a chance to look it over otherwise for...

    Question about HK P30

I own a p2000 v3 in 9mm. I'm pretty sure it's +P rated. But they warn you in the manual that firing +P will shorten the lifespan of the gun (duh). Pretty sure on this, but don't hold me to it.

    Need an Opinion

Yes, initially the G19 was what I was leaning towards. However, the soon-to-be-wifey isn't a Glock fan, and I don't like that I've gotten so used to the unique Glock grip angle that I can't pick up another pistol and shoot accurately without a bit of practice (which perhaps is a deficiency on my...

    Need an Opinion

Hello folks, New to THR, but have been on other forums. I am a Wisconsin resident moving to a CCW state for law school. I've put away some money, let go of some acquisitions from my Swedish mauser collection, taken the CCW class, and am excited about the right to defend myself and my...
