i know we need a new lube thread like a hole in our heads but this is a specific question. And yes, I google searched it and the last thread was 6 years ago on the gunsmithing forum here.
Anyone use Corrosion-X as a gun lube in addition to corrosion protection? And is Corrosion-X for guns any...
I can vouch for land west of canyon city. Head west into the Arkansas river valley and there are small towns along the way that provide roads north or south from the river. Some real nice BLM areas north of the river. I don't know about south of the river, but north of the river the BLM built...
As has been mentioned before on this forum, a decade ago gun shows used to be more interesting, lots of private sellers and unusual memorabilia. I wanted a bolt action .22 and found a kinda beat up 512 at a private seller's who had all sorts of interesting guns. Everything seemed okay with the...
Improve my shooting skills to get back to where I was 8 years ago when I took a hiatus. Get a rifle/scope combo good enough for silhouette shooting and start practicing. Or figure out how to turn my CZ 455 into a shooter for silhouette.
I don't remember which version of the recipe I used but I used clear Erlenmeyer flasks to store it in and noticed after a while a white precipitate formed and made a layer on the bottom. I figure it was the additives in the atf. Threw it out in an environmentally safe manner and wondered why I...
I own 2 bushmasters and have been pretty happy with them. Would I buy another? No.
My bushmasters will not function with wolf steel cased ammo. Seen it on another bushmaster too. But some folks say you shouldn't run "commie" ammo through these types of rifles.
I didn't like the stock...
The Browning is a fine rifle, very well made. It's best for small statured people, IMHO.
The Marlin feels like an adult's rifle. I have a 39A Mountie but like the full size w/pistol grip more.
The first .22 lever I got was the Browning. Then I got the Mountie and the Browning only sees the...

I use a patchworm & like it pretty well.
If you use a boresnake, pull it so the cord is centered in the barrel - like you would a rod...
Practice, practice, practice. Professional musicians and athletes practice every day.
It doesn't take a lot of rounds every day to dramatically improve your skills - if you concentrate on the fundamentals. 50 rounds a day will do it. Much more and you hit marginal returns because of...
I set out to buy a Rossi pump .22 about a year ago. A few years back they used to be ubiquitous at the big Houston gun shows. I hadn't been in a while and was surprised to find none at all.
I asked a dealer about them and he said their QC was very spotty and too many people got burnt on...
Are you friends or just boyfriend/girlfriend? And I mean real friends not just "we get along, pal around and have fun."
Ideally your partner should be your best friend or one of your very best friends.

Ask over at www.rimfirecentral.com in the Marlin forum.
There's one guy who knows a lot about Marlin 39 production histories, I've seen him post production figures before IIRC.

Re: the Nylon 66, I've read that Remington stopped producing them because their tooling wore out.
I'm skeptical because they sold the tooling to a brazilian company who then manufactured look-alikes. On Nylonrifles.com I've read that there was no material difference between the...
I've not seen one specifically for rifles. When I'm shooting a rifle I use the one for pistols.
As Afy said, the basics are the same. Natural point of aim and breathing are other key issues for rifles.
Get a good job. How?
Find a job that uses skills you're good at and pays good money. E.g. don't fall for something like the great woman's trap: "I like working with children." Well, duh - you and 70% of all other women. There's a lot of competition and therefore daycare and kindergarten...
Welcome to Notch and Hooper!
Hoop, you might take it apart, take a pic & post it here.
I've got the 39A disassembly/assembly manual, PM me if you need it. It's about 3.6 MB.
