Where is all the 6.5 Creedmoor SRP brass?

I've been using small rifle primer brass since buying a 6.5 Creedmoor. Now, anywhere I look, SRP brass is not available. But, large rifle primer brass is. Are they stopping manufacturing SRP brass and shifting to LRP brass exclusively? Or, is something else going on?

Looking for a good place to have my slide milled

What are some good reputable places (as well as places to avoid) to have a Glock slide milled for a Holosun red dot? The place must be able to re-tenifer the cut and not have an outrageous wait time.

    Tinted .5 diopter shooting glasses?

Recently I bought some clear .5 diopter shooting glasses that work like a dream. I can now see the front sight while keeping distance fairly clear. With summer here, I'd like to get the same thing, but tinted. I've searched high and low but have not found any. Can someone provide a...

    Prevent rust on pistols?

I have an M&P 9mm and also a stainless steel revolver. During the summer I sweat battery acid. This results in rust on the M&P sights and frame and sights on the revolver. I normally clean them after each range visit, but my sweat is so powerful, I still get rust. Anyone have secrets for...

    RCBS Pro 2000 adjustment question

The primer strips have quit advancing on my Pro 2000. I contacted RCBS who replied "This is an adjustment issue with the cam #2 on the manual P-2000 parts list or #10 on the auto index P-2000. Move the P-200- cam closer to the cam guide by about .010” at a time or until it indexes the...

Heating a gun when lubing it?

I've seen lubes that say you need to heat the metal you apply it to in order for it to bond. I've also heard about heating opening metal's pores. So, I got to thinking - would it be of any advantage to heating a gun when applying its lube? I don't mean those lubes that require it, I'm talking...

    AAC Blackout reloading?

Hi, I'm about to buy an AR-15 but shudder at the thought of reloading for it on my progressive press due to the amount of force - and the requirement to lube the inside of the mouth with mica - necessary when reloading .223. So, looking at the very slight shoulder of the AAC Blackout (and...

    Reforming a Kydex holster?

I bought a Kydex holster that says its intended for a CZ-75. The holster has the world's tightest fit, with no screws to adjust that tightness. In order to reshape it, I'm considering putting it in the oven. A couple of questions about that: 1) Do I put just the holster in the oven, or...

    What the ... ???

I tumbled my brass in my vibratory tumbler and the brass came out with smears of a tar like substance!?!? My guess is that the case polish I added mixed with the soot/dirt and created a tar. It is now dried on the bowl of my tumbler and required a combination of mineral spirits and a...

    Accurate shooting with declining eyesight?

Guys, I have good distance vision, but now have to use readers for close vision. I tend to shoot steel, so I've never been focused (no pun intended) on very accurate shooting. Lately, I've been trying to shoot small targets and am having problems. If I put on readers, I can see my front...

SIG follow up shots in DA?

Guys, Last weekend I shot steel with my SIG P226 (DA/SA). During several strings I fired a shot and found the next shot was in double action mode (i.e. the hammer was DOWN). The shot fired successfully in double action mode, but this really affected my concentration. Afterward, I fired off...

    Overlubing?

I listened to a podcast the other day and it mentioned you shouldn't over lube pistols (except certain models, such as 1911's). My question is why not? I understand lube attracts dirt and can form a paste, but that isn't an issue for my range guns. I tend to slather on Slide Glide (which is...

Nose high jam caused by... ?

Hi, I went shooting yesterday and one of my guns had a number of nose high jams (resulting in failure to feed). These were reloads. Is a nose high jam symptomatic of a reloading error? e.g. OAL too long or too short? Or, is there something else to blame? I had the jams with multiple...

Problems with Win LPP seating proud?

I've been having a heck of a time with failures to fire from my .45 acp. Recently, I noticed the problem only seems to occur with Winchester LPP - not with CCI primers. The Winchesters seem to seat shallower (resulting in them sitting proud of the case) than the CCI's, requiring, in quite a...

    Gun rust prevention AFTER shooting?

Last weekend I shot out in the blazing sun. I sweat battery acid. I waited a whole day to clean my guns and found several already had begun to rust. This leads me to a question for you all... do you do anything to your guns immediately after shooting, to protect them until you get around to...

    NRA Benefits?

All, I recently decided that all my shooting buddies MUST be NRA members to continue shooting with me. Sadly, I'm getting resistance. I'm seeking to compile a list of all the good things that the NRA does both for us as individuals and for clubs. Can you guys supply some benefits I can add...

    Cause of jam?

Today, while shooting a new bullet - 120 gr. TC 9mm - I got several jams. This is the jam where the bullet is facing upward at a 45 degree angle, with the nose of the bullet stuck above the chamber. In the past I fought through nose dive jams by lengthening the COL. This new jam is new to...

Anyone repaired their Peltor 6S muffs?

I have a pair of Peltor 6S muffs that stopped working. Looking at the reviews, this is quite common. Has anyone repaired theirs? If so, any tips/hints? TIA

    .45 acp primer pockets?

All, I'm at wits end. I reload my .45 .acps and about 2% of them fail to fire. The primer shows a dimple, so there was a primer strike. More over, this happens on both my .45's (meaning it's not a gun problem). I suspect the primers aren't fully seated (using Federal primers in range...

    How to apply Duracoat?

Hi all, I'm a newbie P226 owner, having just bought a Police trade in. Its frame shows a considerable amount of holster wear, so I'd like to apply black Duracoat. What I can't figure out is how to handle pins and sights. Do I remove all pins and sights? And, if so, wouldn't the paint build up...
