    Most widely used Knife style?

IWAC, are you saying this was just commonly carried or commonly carried as a "fighter"?

    Good fighting Knife

I'll opine from the rafters on ideal fighter features - Has a grip that aids retention when your hands are wet from blood or perspiration. (leather or checkered micarta/wood) Has a cross guard to prevent your hand slipping forward onto the blade. Has a narrow width blade to allow...

Sharpest Production Knife Out of the Box?

Vintage Case XX, "Tested XX Razor Edge" etched on the blade. Find a NIB one from the 60's and you will be amazed at the factory edge they had back then. More modern (for me) is the Spike non-serrated automatic from Benchmade. As I was opening one for the first time my wife said "Be careful...

Before I dive in an build this..... (portable reloading bench)

Thanks for the feedback and coments guys! I think I might make it a bit wider but keep the press mounting area within the dimensions of the Workmate for some elbow room.

Before I dive in an build this..... (portable reloading bench)

I have not reloaded for 20+ years and am slowly getting back into it. I cannot dedicate the space for a fixed spot and want to be able to take it down when I finish. What are you comments on the setup below? What would you change or add? It seems like a straight up good idea. Portable Bench

    Buck Rebate - Rip off

I had wondered how Buck avoided Chinese-made knives. At some price points it would be impossible not to make them there or India. Nothing wrong with Chinese cutlery as it really comes down to what the specifying company is asking them to make. However, every time I've picked up a Wal-Mart Buck...

    flare gun recomendations

I have a Swiss-made knock-off of the HK 26.5mm version. I don't know why I bought except it is made really nice and was cheap. The Polish ones are knock-offs of the original Russian design. They are cheap and will still be around 100 years from now they are so robust. You can buy 12 gauge...

    Let's talk aluminum baseball bats

Darn it, I was just gearing up to deliver my chainsaw hypothesis! Is a bat being considered instead of a non-lethal alternative such as a chemical deterrent? I'd certainly grab a bat if that was the only thing at hand, but a bat sure puts me up close & in the kill zone if my assailant has...

    Pocket Knives in School?

PRM, to that point I was raised in the San Joaquin valley in CA. I can recall walking to a friend's house once with my loaded .22 where we both proceeded to walk another mile or so out into the fields to shoot. Along the way we did get stopped by a sheriff deputy who told us to be careful and...

Marlin 1894 .44 Mag 16" barrel - good trunk gun?

I might want a mag-feed or stripper-fed weapon so I could keep the mag loaded but out of the rifle in case of break-in or vehicle theft. Otherwise, easy to put back into action where a tube-mag gun would not be. Maybe an SKS? The rack picture reminds me of my buddy's Toyota Celica. He had a...
