    Remington 1100?

Thanks Guys. As always very helpful. It was 1100 with VR Mod choke. Looked in great shape. He took $400. Not sure what model it is or the year born. N189XXXV...any ideas? Probably will shoot it awhile before any changes but if I want to shoot sporting clays...should I leave as is, go with...

    Remington 1100?

Kinda new to shotguns. Have a 870 at home but am interested in getting into Sporting Clays and perhaps Skeet/Trap. I have a elderly friend who is looking to sell his Remington 1100. I don't know the specifics yet (my wife took the call). Apparently its 20-25ish years old and I know for sure...

    10/22 Accuracy

5 shot group from 25 yards. Of course there is a handful of upgrades that were fun to do. Can't remember what the stock version did. It was so long ago. Ammo was your basic Winchester 555. Just seems to shoot well in the gun. Go figure.

Road trip coming up to upsate NY, some questions

The guys got it right. You can't bring a pistol into NYS unless you are going to a Official sponsored event. NYS really stinks in this case and it recently just got a lot worse. Agree with shot gun

    Simply Rugged ???

Got one for a Smith 629 4 inch. Carries well but don't love it. Should have purchased a more "form fitting" one

    380 or .38 special

If the question is 380 or 38 specials for protection and plinking then my answer is neither...not a great choice choices for either Save up and get a reliable used 9mm which will take care of both of your requests at a much cheaper ammo level

    berry 124gn and w231

I have a gen 4 glock 19 that is not reliably cycling berry 124gr and 4.2-4.3gr of w231. I know most of the books put max dose for lead at 4.4gr. Getting stovepipes and very weak ejections My question is has anyone ever gone a little higher for the Berry bullet. Would love to try 4.5 gr...

    M&p 45c

Agree with the above. It was the worst trigger I have felt. Gritty, long, poor reset. New gun with the apex kit. Love it now

    Simply Rugged

Have one for a S&W 629. It holds the big and heavy gun well and distributes the weight well. Quality is good. My only issue is I got the plain Jane version and its not very pretty. In hindsight probably would have gone with a different holster had I'd known

Alliant reloader-10x and .223 data needed

OK Thanks Guys Alliant then list's the max load at 23gn for a 55 gn bullet, which puts the 10% range from 20.7-23. Since this is a plinking load, I think I'll start at 20.5 for a 55 gn FMJBT and see how that works. I certainly bought a lot of it...I hope it works out!!

Alliant reloader-10x and .223 data needed

Just came back front he local gun shop. Hoped to get a refill for H335 and H332 for my .223's. Surprise, they are all out. They had 1 5 lb Alliant reloader-10X left and on a wim I bought it. Now I am having a hard time finding load data. I checked the Alliant site and there is some data but...

    7+1 carry suggestions

My understanding of the the new NYS laws is : -effective immediately all mag more than 10 rounds are illegal (including pre-ban) and you have 1 year to turn them in, destroy them, or sell out of state -non-preban hi-cap mag were already illegal here -10 round mags remain legal if the...

    380 lead and Titegroup

I have some titegroup that I want to use up and need to load 95 gr LRN .380's. Looking for a middle of the road load for plinking out my LCP I have always used w231. Any suggestions? (Based on the manuals 2.8ish seems close, but I want to hear your thoughts)

Glow Ammo and titegroup and help with load

UPDATE: No issues with the titegroup load. Worked great. The Glow ammo was neat and worked as expected with the FMJ. Not sure it was worth $50 (in fact I am sure it wasn't) As expected the sticker flew right off the hollow back bullets.

Glow Ammo and titegroup and help with load

Thanks guys. I only loaded about 25 of the berry bullets. I thought about the hollow back issue as I was placing the sticker on it. I suspect it will be blasted into the hollow base...but that might be ok as long as it stays attached to the bullet...sounds like a neat experiment to me!! I also...

Glow Ammo and titegroup and help with load

I bought a box of Glow ammo stickers just for fun. They suggest a fast burning powder such as titegroup. I have Berry's 9mm 124 FPHB that I loaded with 4.1g of titegroup to 1.100. I think I may have read the manual wrong. This is very close (if not over) the recommended load. Do I need...

Lost confidence in Hornady Critical Defense

Interesting thought. The second episode it was the fourth round from the mag...not usually a round that is repeatedly rechambered. Honestly I dont recall which round it was the first time
