I concur with the prior post: buy a new/used TC in percussion and sell the flint version. Since it is a non-firearm - you can put it on Gunbroker without much hassle.

Federal law says a BP gun is not a firearm, so no federal forms. Until recently, a BP pistol was still considered a pistol in Michigan and subjected to the same rules as any pistol - this was changed over teh last Winter.
Best deals are usually mail order.

I believe a correct picture of a Russian sniper at the stand-off is at the top of this article.
I think the other picture is a crock - maybe the local police asked some guy for help until they were more organized.

My 45-70 story . . .
About 7 years ago I took my son to the local state run public range. We spent a bit over an hour punching 22 caliber holes in various paper targets at 25 yards. I took a break and walked the line where I found a 70+ gent with a nice 187? Springfield. It was original...

The above link will allow you to see the schedule and results for all events including shooting. It also tells you what is on TV and when.

Contact Track of the Wolf. They sell a replacement lock from L & R which will fit your gun and is probably better than a TC lock. You can get other items you may need as well.

Like any of the - shall we say - non-mainstream sports, shooting has a small following. I am glad to see it making the cable channels.
However, I don't have cable . . . so I'll have to do what I do every year and not watch any of it.
Like many sports, TV does not do shooting justice. I...
The twist rate is too fast for a round ball, but experiment with different projectiles and powder charges to find the most accurate. Typical load development.

Try a new approach - get involved in running the club. Our club is run by mostly retired folks as they have more time, but I stuck my nose in and proposed some new things. Then I volunteered to actually run the program - not just suggest they do it.
I am not a well known figure by the old...
As mentioned before - target shooters will typically only clean a gun once a season or if the accuracy goes to heck. After you clean it, expect to have to shoot 100+ rounds to get the accuracy back to normal.
This is true for expensive bolt action target rifles. If you have a...
NPR Promo
The anti's got NPR to do a nifty piece this morning - basically how all the Congress is kissing the NRA's bottom and not bringing up this common sense legislation.
Once and a while NPR is balanced, not this morning.
The ban may expire, but after someone commits a high profile...
You can always go to Boyds and get a stock which is nearly fully inlet. Just some final fitting, and sanding. Then finish as you see fit. Hard to beat the costs.
It used to be quite common for somone to bring in a ML gun to a shop after a grandfather passed away and ask how much they could get for it - often upon inspection, they were found to be loaded with a charge of powder and ball. There are less of these old original guns around. They were...
TROLL ALERT!!!
This is total BS . . . There are no air rifle target sports which allow anything near the power of the Big Game hunting air rifles.
There are 3 primary types of air rifle competition:
1. Paper target in various forms - use low power w/ peep sights - Olympic style is the top...
I don't remember the first 3 movies, but in the recent movies the props guys used slightly dressed-up Steyr 10 meter air pistols, just like mine! If you see movie stilly, you can read the logos.
I guess it already looks futuristic . . .

Others can get into fine points . . .
The NM upper has a free floated barrel which doesn't look like it is per CMP rules. It also has sights which meet the letter of the law.
The RRA 2 stage trigger is quite nice - I got one.
I built my AR competition gun without the free float barrel -...
The problem is that Michigan created its own definition of what is a "firearm" many years ago. Technology for "toys" has passed this by and it needs to be revisited.
Michigan law states:
8.3t “Firearm†defined.
Sec. 3t. The word “firearmâ€, except as otherwise specifically...
