Mossberg 500A 12 gauge barrel search

It's pretty easy to unscrew the magazine tube and put on a shorter one. Tons of barrels out there on the used market for the shorter mag tube.

    20 ga. Weatherby SA08 24" Youth Synthetic ?

I bought one for my twin boys when they were 9. Worked great and soft shooting. My 14 yr old niece shoots it as well but I add a slip on recoil pad to increase lop for her by about an inch. For a 15 year old I'd probably not get the youth model but that depends on the size of the girl. My niece...

    shotgun for 10 year old

I have 9 year old twin boys. Remington 1187 compact in 20 gauge is perfect for them. It has a shorter 21 inch barrel with screw in chokes. Also adjustable length of pull with spacers that are included with purchase. As they grow I will just add another spacer. I thought about a Remington 1100...

    Winchester Model 12 Riot Gun

Looks really nice. I guarantee if I found that in a shop around me it'd be at least double the price.

Weatherby 28gauge for 10 year old

I'm looking at getting a weatherby SA-08 semi automatic for my son to start with. He's 10 years old. Thought about a 410 but I'm thinking he might outgrow that too quickly. I do plan on reloading for it. Any thoughts on the shotgun and gauge for a kid?

    Dove hunting with old shotguns

Oooh I really like that model 12 and canvas case. I think that might be my next shotgun purchase. Where'd you get the case?

    Duck hunting with a 590A1?

He has a 590a1. Different magazine tube and barrel attachment than a 500 or 590. Needs to change magazine tube for a 500 barrel to work. Though I've read you can just unscrew the tube on a 590a1 and install a 500 tube and barrel and it'll work. No actual experience doing this though.

    Duck hunting with a 590A1?

I was in your same boat years ago when I was first invited to go duck hunting. I had a mossberg 500 with the 8 shot mag tube and 20" barrel. I didn't make much at the time as I was learning a trade. I ended up borrowing a shotgun. Later I swapped out the mag tube for a 5 shot one and bought a...

Pretty sure it's the same as it was last year. 15 mourning doves. Unlimited eurasians.

    Dove hunting with old shotguns

Thanks guys. The other guys I was hunting with really enjoyed seeing and hearing the black powder shells go off. It's a louder deeper boom than smokeless and of course a lot of fire and smoke.

    Dove hunting with old shotguns

Did a little dove hunting on the 1st. Brought my new to me 1897 winchester made in 1906 And my 1889 Remington made in 1901. Both in 12 gauge. Loaded some brass shells with black powder and 7 1/2 shot and had a blast. To me there's something special about using these old guns and wondering who...

Which is your latest shotgun purchase?

1897 winchester with 30" full choke barrel. Also came with second front end with 26" cylinder bore barrel.

    Winchester 1897 barrel length

Dented muzzle makes sense. Looks like the choke is still intact though.

    Winchester 1897 barrel length

    Just barely does not fit.

    Winchester 1897 barrel length

I recently bought an 1897 winchester shotgun. Serial number puts it as manufactured in 1906. It has a D stamped by the number. It is a takedown model and barrel is stamped full. My question is did they make any with 29 inch barrels? Measuring from the bolt face to the end of the barrel gets me...

What is the most inaccurate pistol you own? Why do you keep it around?

I had a walther p99 in 40 cal and just couldn't shoot it very accurately. Went shooting with my brother one day and he couldn't miss with it. One ragged hole groups every time. Usually we are pretty equal when it comes to accuracy. I tried changing the grips out and everything but this...

My new to me S&W 586

I own a 4inch 686 and it is the nicest shooting handgun I have ever shot. I own quite a few revolvers and I just can't seem to miss with it. Don't ever sell or trade it. You will regret it.

School me on NAA Mini revolvers

Yea, folding grips make a big difference. Never could shoot them well without them.

Hmmmmmm....is this to much to pay for a Super Blackhawk?

Looks like an old model 44 Flattop to me and well worth the $600 asking price.
