    SKS vs Unconverted Saiga 7.62x39

+1 Nothing wrong with a "stock" saiga.

    SKS vs. AK-47 vs. Mini-14

I call BS on the "unsafe" Chinese SKS. Clean out the cosmo, special attention to the bolt and firing pin channel. They're no more dangerous than any other. Counting myself, friends and family I've shot nearly a dozen Chinese SKS and had ZERO issues other than eating ammo and putting smiles on...

Good deal on a Saiga .308?

Never said anything about sniper rifles and I know about the manual. I don't need to refer to another forum to gain anecdotal education. I actually shoot my guns and tell my own stories. Both of MY saigas in .308 shot considerably better than 3-4", but that's WITH optics. MY Bulgarian...

Good deal on a Saiga .308?

DIM, you ever shot or owned a Saiga .308? The two that I've owned did considerably better than your statement. SA surplus and cheap commie optics got me better than 2" at 100yds until the barrel got hot. They were loads of fun, just expensive to feed. Heck, I can get better than 3-4" with...

    Best All-around 357 Frame Size

I voted L frame, Ruger Six-series would work too. If I'm going to carry an N frame at all it's gonna be needed, like in bigger calibers than .357. I have much love for the 27/28 but they are overbuilt for anything other than a high-volume range only gun. J-frame, punishing with...

    38 s&w ctg revolver

Smith and Wesson Victory model. http://www.coolgunsite.com/pistols/victory_model_smith_and_wesson.htm Quick Google search gave me that. Surely there's more info out there.

    S & W 686 Recall

That's what I did Texas Bulldog. I purchased a 586 several months ago, no dash and no "M". My gun had a bit of end-shake and cylinder run-out. Nothing major, prolly left the factory that way, it wasn't shot too much before I got it. I voiced my concerns along with the fact that it hadn't...

    S & W 686 Recall

If they continue to balk at the idea of doing the modification, send me an email or PM through this site. I'll fix 'ya right up.

    S & W 686 Recall

If you press the issue with S&W customer service, they will do the work and cover shipping both ways.

    New Ruger Vaquero .45lc

If you are shooting low, just file the front sight a bit. Make sure this is the load you want the sights regulated to and go slow. Take a fine file to the range next time. Shoot a couple, file a couple strokes and repeat until you're dead on.

What kind of .357 ammo is in your .357 for SD?

Remington Golden Saber 125 while in the house and Winny Silvertip 145 for out and about. Only one elevation click between them so it's easy to adjust.

So, what do you think about your M&P?

If that's the technicality, it's BS. That is known as positive sear engagement. I had a CZ75 that with the hammer cocked for a single action shot would move the hammer rearward by a MM or so before it released. Would that be a DAO pistol with a long DA and a short DA, no it's DA/SA with...

So, what do you think about your M&P?

Nice gun, just not a "keeper" Nice plastic gun, good ergos, crappy trigger, 100% reliable. Mine went back to S&W for a spotty finish on the slide and control levers. That was partially my fault for buying it that way but I knew they would repair/replace any defect. I got mine when the .45...

    Not a Glock?!?

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement. To those that don't like them or just drop negative comments, thats fine. I don't really like the new hammers with the carbon fiber nano-structure handles, I prefer the old wood handle models with the steel head. It's a tool and for the job at...

    Not a Glock?!?

I don't see myself selling anything to acquire my new purchase, I don't sell guns anymore('cept for that M&P). Everything in my collection is a keeper and money is a bit tight right now. It may take a couple months but that's no problem. Is there any reason to buy a new one as opposed to an...

    Not a Glock?!?

I've never had a bad word for Glocks, but must admit to looking down my nose at them from time to time. I am anything but a "fanboy" or "tactical poser" but I am a practical man. I have no problem using what works even if it tastes a bit like crow.

    Not a Glock?!?

That's it, I just can't argue with what works. I don't want to get into a caliber debate, looks, weight, plastic .vs steel or any other nonsense. That danged Glock 19 stacks the rounds right on top of one another. Dead on the sights I might add. I had a M&P .45 for a while and it was...

    Not a Glock?!?

I've never been a Glock lover or lover of anything plastic for that matter. A bold statement I know, but I cut my hangunning teeth on the classic 1911. I have a couple 1911's and a couple of S&W revolvers. With practice and control I have developed into a decent shooter with my guns...

How does the AR-15 "know" to lock...

What sounds like a simple sproing sound to us is actually Elven for a word I can't repeat on this board. Suffice to say it hurts a bit being caught between the buffer and bolt. The Russian elves in my AK have a language all their own, but being good little socialists they tend to not...
