Short story. Ive been buying, selling and transferring guns through the same small gunshop since I got stationed in this small MS town in 2003. Never had an issue and have developed a good friendship with the owner. As some of you know I am deployed to the middle east again and have had a few...
Found this stuff in my search for removing lead buildup in my suppressors........(yes, I know, shame on me, I shoot cast lead through my silencers)
http://www.paulcompany.com/no-lead.htm
After a hunnerd or so rounds my baffles get stuck and the pistons are covered in lead. Doesnt really...
I tried a job on my old beater AK. I used an RCBS case chamfer tool to clean it up and get the major gouges out, worked really well with some Tap-Majic. THen did the brass bolt with lapping compound, worked ok to deburr the very edge of the rifling. Lastly I used some 0000 steel whool on the...
I want to buy a hand crowning tool. I see brownells sells one as well as midway but I'm finding mixed reviews on them. Specifically, where can I find one for use on multiple calibers with changeable pilots? I don't know if that exists or not but my googleing turns up posts indicating such.
Sweet! My dealer had a Gen 1 Sparrow in he was going to sell at a highly discounted price because it was obsolete now. He had the Gen 2 Sparrow in as well and I had a hard time justifying the price difference. I went with the Gen II and Im glad I did now.
Are those basically dracos re-built on your companys reciever with a new rear trunnion riveted in?
Id like to see a 7" version similar to a mini draco but without having to use a pastic spacer/recoil buffer/bolt travel limiter thingy to keep the carrier and piston from jumping out of the rear...
Been looking at the Zeiss Orion surplus night vision and the Russian surplus NSPU 1PN34 .
Both seem to be about the rarity and price and resaleability but cant find any real pros and cons of each.
Any personal experiences, opinions or thoughts?
Does anyone know a good mount to use when installing a Docter red dot to standard picatinney rail? I know LaRue makes one that $150 but theres gotta be a simpler cheaper way to do it. Im looking at using this sight on an AR15 and would like it to co-witness the irons but its not necessary.....
Instruction 2.D (2) states:
Commonly referred to as an FBI "APPLICANT" card.
Yours are the wrong ones. You submitted standard FD-249 Arrest and Institution Criminal Fingerprint Cards for criminal fingerprinting.
I would send in a copy of the correct cards as an addendum to your package...
I feel the same way you guys do as well about extensions. Useless.
This pretty much is the answer I think is correct:
But just for conversations sake:
You could argue that the measuring method which you describe (which is the correct method BTW) actually would give the length of the...
Got into a discussion at work today about barrel lengths on shotguns to maintain the 18" after seeing the huge muzzle break mossberg put on that roadblocker.
I know that a muzzle break can be permanently attached to a rifle barrel of less than 16" to reach the overall length of 16" Can that...
I work with a guy who has no interest in firearms at all. He recently was rummaging his family's old barn back home and found an old safe with two shotguns inside. He is considering selling them but first want some more info on them. I've got a few crappy cell phone pics he sent me via text...
Im shopping for a Docter red dot for my FNP 45 Tactical. The slide is already milled to accept these optics. My questin is regarding dot size for pistol. The Docter Red Dot is offered in two dot sizes, 3.5 and 7 moa.
My instinct tells me to opt for the 3.5 for finer shot placement but then...
Ive been using KG Gunkote for many years now as a firearms refinishing method. The downfall is Ive been using my wifes oven as a curing oven and you can see where that would lead.
My local gun shop has plain jane sheet metal gun safes, or "residential security lockers" for $99. They're 14...
Not a resolution , yet. But Im thinking a Mega Ma-TEN lower reciever needs to be SBR'd.
I think a SBR 308 would be schweet. I could load up some of my subsonic 308 and shoot them through a 10" SBR with my 30 cal can. Screw that 300 Blackout.
Actually, the more I think about it, It is...
