    Automag II 22 Magnum

Anyone have much experience with these? I'm trying to pick out a pistol for my (small) wife, that would have a little better power than a .22 LR, yet almost no recoil. How accurate (or not) are they, and how reliable (or not) are they. In particular, I like that they are stainless... Thanks...

    You're a small business owner ...

    I wouldn't allow it...I'd require it!:D

    WORN OUT BORE

I'm not thinking Kimber will re-bore a bbl. All of it sounds like crap. :banghead: How well do you want to get along with your FIL, and do you - or wife - stand to inherit anything worthwhile? :D p.s. I'm a little older than I used to be and long ago figured out that it is totally...

Need info on Charles Daly 1911

Mine is the most accurate handgun I've ever fired. No exxageration - one hole (not one bullet hole, sillies... one big'ol ragged hole) at 20 yds. Howsumever - it will only feed and chamber hardball. period.

So what's so great about the M1 Garand

Everything everyone said, plus...it's reliable, it's the perfect counterpart to a 1911A1, and it's very, very easy to work on. Oh...and it's dead sexy....

    The hundred dollar snake

BSA has been real iffy in my experience. The same for Simmons - cheap Simmons are to stay away from; good (higher priced) Simmons are good scopes. However, after 30 years of trying, I've settled on two - Leupold for when I can afford it, and older Weavers for everytime else. It's still hard...

    Right gun for the job

I likes mine fine, I does... I shoot the Nosler 225 gr. Partition. Bought the gun specifically for a combo hunt in BC - moose, mule deer, black bear. Figured this was a great excuse to get another gun in a new caliber:D Could have used my 300 Win Mag, or 7mm Rem Mag, both on synthetic...

    Another Fun Afternoon!

Halfacop - let me get this one... UK Roe Hunter - most state game departments in the US require anyone pursing small game - upland game - birds - to wear at least safety orange hats and often safety orange vests. Additional thought - because a lot of the bird cover in many areas is shoulder...

Little bit of paranoia for the day

it's your tax money at work. everything is looked at, all the time. The Feds have an unlimited budget and need to spend it each year, so there's probably a unit of dweebs who sit there and read this stuff all day long, 9-5, 5 days a week... Hi, dweebs!

    What is this worth?

Don't be misled by everyone's comments. This pistol has a value of $75 to $85. Possible 15% higher, if someone really wants it badly. Don't just take my word for it, check out some online sales and auctions. :o

Is there any point in Getting a .308 Rifle when I already have a .300 savage?

I had my 300 Savage rechambered to .308 (they are near identical) because ammo is far cheaper and more available, with a wider selection.

Say it isn't so! Maybe move to Cali

Read ArmedBear and Librarian again. I had a a son in San Diego (ONLY place to live in So. Cal, btw) who moved to LA - three months later he's back in the Midwest... a sister in San Fran, and a Mom and Sis in between 'em. Even if your company would pay you double, it's not worth it.

    It's coming. Are you ready?

Grand Inquisitor - you're dead on... "and this nation is just not ready to elect a woman. That said, Barak Obama is black, and this nation is not yet ready to elect a black man yet." No prejudice, just reality...

    Is your dog gun shy?

That's why I decided on a Brittany. Saw a pup at our gun club and she was so eager to go over to the wonderful noise and see what it was, her front feet were off the ground pulling on her leash... took my guy there to listen to the trap shooters, and he just wants to run over and sit by...

    Converting a Lithgow .303 to 7.62X54r

well, ya see. There's "can" and "would"... and then there's "should". You gain nothing, except a thing that not many else have. And unless you have loads of ammo, again, you're not gaining anything useful. These remarks are merely my opinion, but I'm stuck with 'em...

If you had to part with 3 guns...

Funny Post - thanks for the idea... I 've seen two models on here that are on my must buy list - the H&R 999 and the Taurus 94 .22. At any rate, and in complete opposition to the spoken motto of my friend's grandmother (Never Sell a Gun!) here's my three. Remington 870 Wingmaster 16...

    Road Rage and Handguns

Sounds like the "inter-limb" reaction took a mad-dog piece of crap out that would have gone on to bigger and worse events otherwise. Whether Vern's actions were right or wrong in your eyes, that was the overall benefit.

Talk to me about the 7x57 Mauser round

QBG -- I am so jealous that I could puke - great gun, great caliber. :neener: Not just cause it's my favorite of all time, but I'd take on any...any... North American big game animal with it, except the big bears...(I'm fatuous, not stupid...) I always liked the 160gr. Sierra SBT for accuracy...
