I just read the post about the burr in the extractor star. Both my 70s vintage 'Dogs had the same burr! After 45+ years that same star machine is turning out the same stars with the same burr!:what:😅 A little file job was all that was needed to fix that.
By the way, my original 3" is great! My...
I like my Kahr K40. If you're looking for hammer fired, try the FN Reflex. That's one of its selling points. The HK P30SK is also hammer fired. I own a USPc LEM and it's an excellent compromise.
I've tried the products listed above. They all work fine for my purposes. I have a large bottle of Weapon Shield that will last me many years. I also have and use Hornady One Shot dry lube on my carry guns. Cleans well and lubes well and doesn't drip since it's dry. I have many samples of other...
I haven’t trusted the media since Walter Cronkite said we were losing in Viet Nam. At that time we just kicked ass during the Tet Offensive. It became a self fulfilling prophesy because the general population believed Uncle Walter and turned anti-war.
Years ago I used Tetra grease and oil. I put one of my 1911s in long term storage and when I took it out I found all of the Tetra grease had solidified. I stopped using it and now mostly use Weapon Shield cleaner, grease and oil. Hornady One Shot dry lube is my go to on EDC guns.
A friend of mine got arrested at JFK a few years ago for doing exactly that. He was en routes to Alaska. It cost him a few thousand dollars but he eventually got through it with no conviction. He never got his gun back.

I also use my KT P11 as my airline travel gun for the same reason. Recently bought a Taurus GX4 for the same purpose. I also like Samsonite hard siders. I have a large one without zippers that I use when traveling w/wife. Zippered bags are not secure at all.
When I worked in a Brooks Brother's world (stock broker) I always wore a suit and carried my PPK in a Thad Rybka pocket holster. Since the jacket usually came off in the office, either pocket or ankle carry was preferred. I always carried in pocket. That is what pleated slacks are for!
Besides a copy of the TSA rules, print out a copy of the LAW! Sometimes "they" have to be forced to comply. Happened to me at RDU.

BRG MGB! Love it. :) I got a MGB-GT BRG when I got back from overseas in 1970. Loved the wire wheels. Women loved that car!
It was the perfect compliment to my PPK!
I bought mine new in 1967. It has a very strong recoil spring so it would stovepipe on commercial range ammo available back then. A hand load of 4.2gr Unique under a 90-100gr round nose was very reliable. I used a Sierra 90gr JHP over the Unique powder as my carry load for years. Once hot...
AlexanderA: I really hope you're right on the slow walking.
I really question the repubs on the "committee" and the term "negotiations". What are they negotiating? The Repubs haven't proposed anything positive. No nationwide reciprocity, no silencer removal from the NFA, no SBR removal from...
A friend of mine got snagged at JFK for exactly that situation - diversion and need to spend the night. It cost him 3 days in jail and about $5k in legal expenses. The problem eventually went away. He didn't get the gun back. His mistake was PICKING UP THE BAG! By the way, Reagan is in...
If you get diverted to a no go state, DO NOT PICK UP YOUR BAG! Notify the airline and let them deal with it. Picking up the bag subjects you to arrest.
