I guess you could call me the Economy King. I found the Ruger EC9s, apparently unfired, in a Pawn shop for $175.00 with a box of
Blazer Brass 115grain FMJ. I put a Hogue Handall on it, and it works for me when I can't carry a full-sized gun. I have two 7 round and two 9 round magazines for it...
I have a bunch of Remington bulk .22 LR that I can't find right now, but I did find a 325 round box of the Federal 36 grain CPHP ammo in the garage that still had the original price tag of $19.00. That's what I'm loading in my new Henry Survival Rifle.
Last month I purchased this 9x19mm S&W SD9 with black Melonite slide and Hi-Viz fiber optic sights as my EDC to replace my S&W Model 65-1 which is effectively irreplaceable.
Then, on Sunday, I bought this .22 LR Henry Survival Rifle to carry on our travels. It fits nicely in my backpack with...
I was already doing this, but now I have to buy safety glasses for however many people will fit in my vehicle. My prescription progressive bifocals are polycarbonate, but now I'm worried about over/under/sides. Need safety goggles and hearing protection for my 60 pound Lab mix, too.
Very nice! The guy at my LGS kept saying that the Exatar EP9 had "a LOT of plastic" on them. They're still listed at around $419.00, but they're gone almost as soon as inventory hits the site. I bought my S&W SD9 because I wasn't going to live on the Extar website.
They are just fine, resting comfortably in the pistol safe until things calm down enough for me to start wearing them again. The S&W Model 65-1 will likely come out during hunting season if I can manage to get to the woods. My back yard:
I fired a .357 Magnum one night a hundred years ago (seems like) in a 4 foot wide hallway with linoleum tile floors, plaster and lath walls, and stamped metal ceiling. The idiot that was shooting at two deputies threw his little nickle-plated .32 out from around the corner of the hall. Between...
The Ruger EC9s (lower left) cost $175.00 (no box, 1 mag) at a pawn shop across the street from a casino, and the pawn shop gave me a box of Blazer Brass 115 grain FMJ. I got the Hogue Handall inexpensively and three more magazines (a 7-round with finger rest & two 9-round extended mags) on line...
Back when I got the compact holster for the S&W 469, I sent an email to Phalanx Defense Systems praising their product. I got a nice email back from the CEO, and he sent me a t-shirt and one of those string strap backpacks. My grandson is still using the compact to carry the 469.
I just picked...
Until the recent bedlam in the streets and rioters moving into neighborhoods and blocking streets and highways, my revolvers were just fine for concealed (or open) carry. Now there are just too many pieces of offal in the street too many places too long and with too little regard for the rights...
My traveling loads now are 16+1 with 2 spare 16 round magazines and 7+1 with 2 spare 9 round magazines. Total ammo including what is in the pistols is 75 rounds of 9mm.
