    Colt revolver collectors are weird.

People who collect Colt SAAs have deep pockets and want as original as possible. Unlike normal collectors who put a premium on finish and originality. SAA collectors get excited over a well used handgun.

Guns you thought you’d like but didn’t…

    1. Back when I was a teen, I talked my dad into buying a Lama .380 1911 style handgun. It was cool as heck but was not comfortable to shoot at all and .380 ACP was expensive. 2. Ever since I saw Quigley Down Under, I wanted a Sharps rifle in 45-70. I found a Pedersoli model 1874 Sharps rifle...

How many rounds during a range session?

My range session is normally a 100 rounds of 9mm to practice with my EDC and 100 rounds of .22 LR for fun.

Who has a Winchester 75 target

I have a 75 and it has to be the worst trigger of any .22 rifle I own. I hear there is a way to adjust the trigger but I have so many other rifles to shoot that I haven’t bothered to figure it out. I shot my buddies Annie 1903 and it was a dream to shoot.

What is your Favorite Revolver and its use

I had a SW 22-4 with a case hardened coloring in .45 ACP that fed from moonclips. I foolishly traded it away for a Deltonics Combat Master which I no longer have. I really enjoyed shooting my 22-4 with moonclips and even shot a USPSA match with it. I hope to one day purchase another 45 ACP revolver.

    380 pocket carry choice

I used to own a Colt Pocket Lite and Pocket II. IMHO they are anything but pocket carry handguns and were best carried in a belt holster. They were both fine shooters but I ended up selling them both because if I had to strap on a holster I might as well carry a .38 or 9 mm. For a dedicated...

Had a lively day at the indoor range today

I just got back from my local indoor range and can completely relate to all the stories this far. I’m shooting on the pistol side of the range and to my left is a Middle Ages man and his big booty wife/GF. They were shooting a handgun with a laser at the 7 yard line. I couldn’t help but notice...

Questions on loading for the Garand

I used to compete with my M1 at CMP matches but haven’t been to one in a few years. I started with 167 SMK over a charge of Varget (I don’t have the data handy but I think it was 46gr). This was an accurate load but I found my recovery times in the rapids was slow and at 200 yards the 168s were...

    High Standard Duramatic No Worky

I have never had good luck worth any aftermarket mags. I have the adjustment tool but have not tried to tune them yet so they may work after tuning. Don’t buy aftermarket mags for your High Standard. Buy from the source of High Standard...

    Semi-auto MP5 Variants

I went through buying an MP5 end of 2021. I was prepared to drop the money on a real HK. My reasoning is the HK will only go up in value whereas the clones not so much. But to recoup the value on an HK it would need to be in excellent condition and I was wanting a gun I could use and abuse. So...

The Centurion Arms C4 MLOK rail that goes around the FSB is a good one. You need the carbine length rail. https://centurionarms.com/c4-m-lok-rail-carbine-cut/

    What is your minimum?

My minimum caliber I would be comfortable to carry would be .380 shot from my Keltec P3AT. After that it would be any of my Colt Detective or Cobra with 158 FBI loads.

.45 acp revolver vs .45 auto

I think a .45 acp revolver is a nice change of pace and if you already have 1911’s then it makes sense to buy a revolver. I had a S&W model 22-45 that had the case hardened finish I think done by Turnbulls. It was beautiful and loaded using moon clips or 45 Auto Rim rounds and shot great. I...

    RCBS PIGGYBACK PRESS

I cut my reloading teeth on a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme back on the mid 80’s. After a couple of years and thousands of rounds loaded on it I was wanting something more progressive. Being a poor college student I could not afford to buy a Dillon and found the RCBS Piggyback II conversion unit...
