Thanks for the info. S&W sent me a letter that my 686 would be ready in 3 weeks. So I called to get the gold bead sight installed and low and behold they said gun had been shipped same day I recieved letter. Anybody replace a red ramp with any other front sight?

I have a 686 at S&W for a recall and thought also to change out the red ramp front sight with a gold bead partridge. I have trouble in some light with the red on a stainless gun. Any experience with the gold bead on a S&W? Thanks
