The .44M 240XTP with Unique powder, Rossi R92

Hi 3crows is this the Rossi you were having feeding trouble with you posted about on the MarlinOwners forum? I post over there with my old screen name of "ratshooter" and suggested the fix for the cartridge guide. I think you have it working now. I will go along with the others about using lead...

Diana Oktoberfest Gewehr had unexpected benefits.

I have always felt I really learned to shoot a handgun from shooting a Crosman 1377 pump up pistol. I could shoot that in the back yard in town and no one knew I was target practicing. I also shot my Benjimin pump 22 a lot in the yard. I killed a lot of squirrels with that rifle. I have a...

    Stretched Out My Henry H001

That looks a lot better. And I like straight tube scopes myself. I have an old Bushnell straight tube on my Ruger 77/22 in 4x and I can shoot 10 shot 5/8" groups at 50 yards with that rifle. The scope doesn't seem to limit the rifle at all.

Marlin experts needed- 336TS with 18.5" barrel and no cross bolt safety

Hold on. Don't do anything yet. I am a Marlin expert and if you will give me the name of that gun shop and their phone number I will call and do a little checking for you to make sure you aren't buying a pig in a poke. I also need to see if they will ship to Texas. This is what friends are for...

    Rossi R95 "Triple Black" .30-30

I did have a Marlin 45-70 and like a dumbass sold it. The first three shots at 100 yard were all touching. I had the dies, bullets and lead bullets and lots of brass and for reasons I can no longer remember I sold the gun. Stupid. But you will never go wrong with a 30-30. A top notch hunters round.

    Rossi R95 "Triple Black" .30-30

Just looked on Starline Brass and while they make 30-30 and 38-55 brass they don't even list 360 Buckhammer brass. Maybe they are waiting to see how popular it gets before they commit to the tooling. It should be almost the same as 38-55 brass since its straitened out 30-30 brass and the 30-30...

    Rossi R95 "Triple Black" .30-30

I am really wanting to get a Rossi R95 in 30-30. I want it because of the 1/12 rifling so I can more easily shoot lead bullet loads. I also want the same R95 in 45/70 and there is the problem. I can't decide which one I want the most. And no, getting both is not an option. I have looked at one...

    New 357 Lever Action

I don't know if you reload or not but my most shot 357 load is a reduced 357 load in a 357 case. I use 6.6grs of Unique with a 158gr SWC lead bullet and that gets around 1100-1150fps fro a 6" barreled revover. I haven't shot it for speed from a rifle barrel but I would guess around 1300fps...

    Spitzer bullets in tubular magazines

All good answers so far. One other thing you will find is with spitzer bullets is that when seated to the correct over all length for the cartridge the ogive is inside the case mouth a little unless you use a very light weight bullet. Another thing is that most spitzers are made to perform at...

    New 357 Lever Action

Any gun should be looked over closely before buying if you can. No matter where its made. There are enough complaints about American made guns that buying sight unseen is a risk. My Academy has one of the Rossi R95 30-30s on the rack. I have looked it over and the wood to metal fit is very good...

    New 357 Lever Action

I agree with you. They were supposed to sell for around $500 but at GB prices I would buy the steel Rossi or spend a little more for the Henry. Oh well, it was a nice thought. Here are the listings from GB...

    New 357 Lever Action

I haven't seen this posted before so I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes. I saw this on another forum and thought I would post it here. Yes, made in Turkey and has an aluminum receiver. Its based on the Winchester model 92 action. It has my attention. And with the Rise Of The Lever Action...

JM Marlin 336. Am I Out of Touch?

Thats the truth. I bought a Marlin in 32 mag, a 357 and 44 mag in 2002 and 2004 and all three needed work on them. Then I bought a 45-70 and it was very good out of the box and a darn accurate rifle to boot. My old 39A has been good. No problems at all. I looked at an Rossi R95 a couple days...

Lever action rifle - fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build. Which one?

I just went by my local Academy store and they had a Rossi R95 on the rack. Priced $799. I asked if they would price match with Buds and they said maybe. It was a nice looking gun. Way better than I expected. Now I have to control myself and give it some thought.

Lever action rifle - fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build. Which one?

And maybe the best deal of all from Buds. Priced at $718 with free shipping. Now if Rossi would bring one out in 35 Remington or 360 Buckhammer. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/157578/rossi+model+95+.30-30+winchester+lever+action+20+black+hardwood+stock+5+1

Found this on gunbroker. The Rossi R95 with 20" barrel for $750. I try not to patronize GB but wanted to show what the street price may be on these rifles. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1036989225 Even cheaper. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1039047114

According to this Marlin parts will fit. This is the first review I have seen on this gun. It now has my attention. https://1895gunner.com/bulletpoints/bulletpoints-44.html

Lever action rifle - fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build. Which one?

I agree. I very seldom ever buy or sell anything there. It used to be a good place to shop but its just grown too big. I still like to window shop. I signed up to be notified when Buds gets another base model Henry in stock. No case hardening and no goofy looking large loop lever. We have a...

Lever action rifle - fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build. Which one?

I just got off of gunbroker looking at lever action 30-30 rifles and all the prices are crazy for them. I would really like one of the new Ruger built guns but there is no way I am going to shell out $1500-$2000 for one. And there are very few for sale. Even beater Winchesters are running $800...
