Initially mine was also very tight I used some CLP to lube the suede and loosened the screw on the side. I haven't noticed any unusually heavy wear as of yet but I've only been using it since March.

It covers the whole barrel The holster is about 1/4 inch longer than the barrel. Hope this helps

It is adjustable There is a phillips head screw on the side for adjustment. So far the suede is holding up well but was a little sticky at first. It did take some time to break in with some dry fire and practice draws.
