I have a new Ruger Blackhawk .38 Special/.357 Magnum revolver (about 200 rounds.)
I want to shoot .38 Special loads in .357 brass? Would there be a problem here?
For example: with a 158 gr. LSWC, using Bullseye powder, the minimum loading for a .38 special is 3.0 grs. and for the .357...
38 spc +p
Thanks guys. I knew I could count on THR.
One other question. I have a bunch of Bullseye and 231 I use for my 1911's.
My Lyman manual reccommends Bullseye and 231 in that order as the go to powders.
What do you say?
Thanks
Roy
Model #
I found the model # in the yoke of the revolver. 65-3.
However, I can find no reference to that model. Should I look somewhere else?
Thanks,
Roy
I would like to know if I can use regular 38 special brass with +p loads. I checked the 5 manuals I have and couldn't find anything to the contrary. The different +p powder difference is shown with the 38 special.
The Sierra manual does not have +p data.
I have 20 pcs. of +p brass, but can...
Does Shooters Choice still make the Black Powder Cleaning Gel?
I checked their web site and it's not on there. I need some bad. I mix it with my Butch's Bore Shine to clean my centerfire target rifles. The gel keeps the solvent in the grooves and on the lands. Works great, but I only have a...
Has anyone noticed a difference between brass with oversized vs. normal sized primer flash holes?
I'm not talking about huge holes, but those roughly 1/4 to 1/2 larger than the normal .062 flash hole. Not that large, but larger. And some twice as large. They all seemed to be ok, but until I...
I just shot 150 gr. Sierra Game Kings last we.ek
at my range. These were the hollow points at 100 yards with IMR4895. Amazing accuracy with a stock Rem 700 VKLS. As good or better than the 168 gr. Match Kings. Again, it was only 100 & 200 yards.
FWIW.

No. You need a neck sizing die which uses a bushing and NO expander ball. Check out the Redding S dies. I believe Midway sells them or you can call Sinclair International. Call either Redding or Sinclair and they will give you instructions on determining which bushing(s) you need. If...
The only reason I would buy one now
is if I have concentricity (out of round) problems. If you are using high quality dies, you shouldn't be having these problems. If you are, check your sizing die. Most problems lie there.
Another thing. If you buy an indicator, do not buy one with +- .0001...
RCMODEL. I've heard that the Russian stuff was corrosive. I don't remember if it was mil-surp or not.
Quoheleth. It's brass. I don't put steel into any my rifles or pistols.
D. Manley. This is "PPU" (Privi Partisan aka Monarch)

Pretty much a mind thing
I bought one in '98 and used it a couple of times. It sits on a shelf now.
I shoot Competition Benchrest and most know how anal we are. However, if your dies are good ones and are set up properly, you should only need the gauge to occasionally check TIR on your...
Is this stuff non-corrosive?
I just bought 6 boxes 223 Rem w/55 gr. FMJBT bullets for my AR and 2 boxes 308 Win.
I thought this was Russian ammo, but found out a couple of weeks it was Prvi and made in Serbia.
I looks ok and measures out pretty much like some Winchester brass I have...
I think it is a Model 38. Working on photos.
I am cleaning this one for a friend. Bad shape. Lots of rust. He kept it in his attic with no protection. I don't know when it was last cleaned. Maybe never. Almost makes me cry the way some people care for their rifles.
The Chrysanthemum has...
As KRS said above
All of my rifles/pistols are cleaned even if only 1 round is fired.
2 saturated patches w/Butches Bore Shine; then bronze brush thru back & forth for each round thru the barrel; then 1 wet patch to remove the crud; then dry patch out. Finally, 1 patch with 2 drops of Kroil...
1911 short triggers
Like Robert said, if your hands are small like mine,
I would go with the thin grips first, then a Greider short trigger next. I did it the other way around, but no big deal.
The short Greider trigger is 2" long. All other triggers are longer, some much longer. Get the...
Kuhnhausen book photo of hammer jig
Can anyone tell me what jig is in the photo on stoning the hammer? I haven't seen this jig anywhere and the book does not state which jig.
Thanks

I agree with varoadking. I have a CD 1911 .45ACP target model. Just about everything is out of spec. I just put a Cyl & Slide Tactical II hammer/sear kit in it. Works great, but the thumb safety doesn't. I've got to do some serious stoning on the lug. It's a...
Hello all. This is my first post on this forum, but have lurked for several months.
I need to know how to contact the webmaster/whoever at pistolsmith.com.
I registered with them several weeks ago and promptly lost my registration info. Now I can't get in no matter which way I go and I...
