I am looking for a SD/HD load for an AR pistol. It must cycle reliably. I will be using Blue Dot powder and Sierra 77 match bullets. Firearm will be an 11.5-inch barreled Colt upper with pistol brace lower. Any good loads you would recommend?

What got me into it? Curiosity at first, then necessity as ammo prices increased and supply chain shortages began. I've been reloading for over 40 years now.

Seven shooter Taurus Tracker in .357 is what I currently own.

Accurate 1680 is what I use for my Colt 20 inch upper. 25.5 gr with brass cases and Hornady SST, SP, or FMJ.

Blue Dot is what I load in 115 XTPs for my carbine. I would like to try Accurate #7 and Blue Dot with 90 XTPs.

I picked up the PSA "blemished" one and I like it just fine. Added a red dot and it is capable of 2-2.5 inch groups at 100 yds. Much better trigger than any AK I've ever owned.

Adjusted the load down to 3.8gr WST (previously was using Unique). Fired from ~ 7yds into one layer cotton tee shirt and one water jug and milk carton laid end to end--about 16 inches of water combined. Much milder recoil with easy extraction. Minimum expansion was .644" and maximum was .655...
