Old School: Trying to remember what my Dad was telling me.
New School: Trying to remember what my Dad had taught me so I could tell my kids.
That goes for hunting and everything else.
Nice Job Dave! You'll be happy to know I'm trying to keep what you taught me going with the boys. The youngest now wants a "barrel barrel shotgun". That's a double barrel for those that don't speak 2 year old.
I still get to wear my BA/UU/R shirt, unfortunately now it's mostly when I'm mowing the lawn. Can't find a nice close by place for trap that isn't a private club.
Is that field 9? It looks really far down to the left for some reason.
I'm not sure if it was mentioned already (I didn't see it). If you're still thinking about the FS2000 FN is having a promotion where if you buy one before Aug 21 or so you can send in for a free C-more sight.
My Dad uses the Ted Williams 200 when he wants to use a pump. I know his is the Winchester version, I'll see if I can dig up any pictures of it to check for the slight hump.
I hunted for a Bearcat for this exact reason. I wanted to start my two oldest with a pistol and the bearcat imho has one of the best sized grips for little hands. It also has nice deliberate steps you have to take to get the gun ready to go. That said both (6 and 7) loved to shoot and were able...
I have a Charles Daly Superior Hunter in 20ga that I use for grouse. I also have a Beretta in 28ga on permanent loan to my dad that he uses for grouse. Both were under $1k with the Beretta being used and the Charles Daly new. You can get some great guns for a good price it just may take some...
I went to one shoot at my club shortly after I moved to PA. It was an unlimited though so I kinda hid in a corner with what I had brought. I had taken what I knew was my tightest shooting 12ga (we were limited to that) and a Winchester 59 with a full choke just gets kinda dwarfed next to some of...
No MD has a requirement for new (after 2001) handguns to come with an internal gun lock. There was a ruling that the in the chamber gun locks were acceptable. These are the fake casing with a rod locked in to it from the barrel kind of locks. That's what my XD-45 was sold with, it was roughly...
Any day of the weekend would be fine with me. I just vote that it's on the Northern end of MD this time so some of us "Northerners" can come pay a visit.
Well I'll still volunteer to beat the brush for you. I'm good at kicking things out so I'll need you to hit them. Missed 3 grouse a couple weekends ago...
Dave glad to hear you picked one up and it's working well for you. Now you just need some peasants to beat the brush and a tweed hat and you'll be set!
The 59 does have an aluminum receiver. I'm glad I haven't seen any cracks like that on mine yet but then again that's why I have three. If one starts to break I have parts :)
