I grew up in sandy eggo withs lots of very good Quail hunting.... always used my Rem 870 12ga. with 28" modified 7.5 shot very effective... dont remember that any birds were overly tore up, but mostly just dead... or shortly to be dead and bagged...

    I think I'm about 165 degrees into a 180 degree turn

I travel almost daily (broker) looking over large tracts of farm property... Daily drill for years, rifle of some sort, into the truck (often more then one)... any thing from 177 or 22 mag to 45/70.. when inspecting property.... I have shot untold number of rabid skunks and other vermin.... I...

What's your favorite 22 magnum cartridge in long gun?

My Rugar American loves the cci 40 gn & fed 50's ... Unbelieveable group at 100 yds... My CZ's like the lighter 30's which really blows up gophers... I tend to use the rugar most....

    760/7600 30-06 & Model 94 44mag

I still have a 742 (308) that i bought new in 75... I took countless deer, couple elk and every kind of vermin you can imagine. I loaded lighter loads with this action, 2550 fps, with 3031 or 748, Hornady 165 gr BTSP (3045). The lighter loads were Much easier on the rail the bolt rides on...

On all things GUN, my want always overides my needs.... I have found it much easier to not fight the impulse .... just BUY IT, you know you really need it.....

    Best 45-70 lever gun?

I bought a new Remlin gg during those transition years... I load the hornady 350s fp ... It has been a fun gun to load for and i never had any problems.... i feel its more or less a marlin, so i gotta say marlin..... I do like the comfort of the 45/70 when hikeing in big sky country.

Is the 20 gauge the 6.5cm of the shotgun world?

I have hunted forever with a 12 ga pump... Of late I have changed to a 20 ga. single... Mostly long hikes looking for a few grouse... The 20ga single is much lighter and plenty lethal for any stray angry black bear i may encounter, whether it be two or four legs... I can use 00' buck or...

    Ruger American Rimfire?

I have one RAR and 2 cz's all 22 mags, I like all three... The 512 cz semi and the 455 cz... The cz's are good and they like the lighter bullets.. BUT the RAR is more accurate and does great with 40 and above grain bullets. Simply put, my RAR 22 mag is darn near a laser.....

With poor feeding there is potental (depentaing on gun type) for the bullet to push further into the case creating pressure issues... be safe..

    22WMR or no?

This concern comes up on a regular basis.... All of it dependent on ones needs... I can freely speak to my needs only... I spend a lot of time in rural areas around livestock... The ping of a 223 as it hits a rock with 150 head (cattle beast) close by, is not a sound most people want to hear...

I have spent a lifetime time on the water and taken several guns for a quick unintended swim. (dive master lot of water time) Fresh water rinse and then good Wd spray and wipe down.... All good and never any issues. Side note... Since the middle 80,s I have always had small outboards as...

    1986 Miami-Dade: .357 Magnum or .38 Special?

I have to agree with cit/con. The agents were "outgunned". Pistols are a defensive tool.. If I was pursuing someone with a mini 14, I would have at least the mini or better.
