I have an early express mag combo and have never had any rust issues.
I added sling studs, a better follower, +2 extension and spring, and a big head safety.
It gets used a lot as a loaner for HS trap team I coach (without the extension)
I didn’t see anyone mention type of leather. Veg tan vs chrome, etc
I would use veg tan leather and treat it thoroughly all sides with something like sno seal or boot wax.
A note on grinder attachment for the kitchenaid mixer.
The old kitchenaid mixers had metal gears. For quite a few years they have used plastic except for some of the artisan models. Even if they work for awhile, they aren’t anything like a regular #8 or larger grinder.

You will use it more than you think.
And do get the foot switch also, you won’t regret it.
I couldn’t even guess how many pounds of meat I’ve run through mine. A couple truckloads, maybe more?
My daughter taught 5 years in Chicago public schools 20 years ago. When they put in metal detectors and security screening, padlocks became the weapon of choice. Either used with shoe strings and swung like bolos or used like brass knuckles with a finger thru the hoop and the lock body in a fist.
Triangular file and a round file or dremel can bring that seration back to service grade.
I bought a slaughterhouse knife at a gun show for $1. Guy had a bucket full of them- sharpened until only the spine remained.
It’s a great pumpkin carving knife. You can pierce the goard and cut tight...
I had a mentor that became my best friend. He has passed and I have grown older. I would love to mentor a younger reloader but I don’t even know anybody interested.
The first time I met my mentor friend is a fond memory. His wife and mine knew each other thru an exercise class. He called me and...
Good Lord no, never been in a knife fight.
I was a bouncer in a couple rough bars over 45 years ago but the only stabbing I witnessed was a jealous girl friend that stabbed her man in the neck with a bic pen.
I carry a knife every day but I never want to be anywhere near a knife fight.
If...
I take the kitchen knife block to the workbench and sharpen all of them when they need it. I have a plastic container that holds all my sharpening stones and mineral oil and strops etc.
I always put a sticky note warning on them when I put them back on the counter.
When I was home for college...
I used a couple antique straight razors a few times but I went back to an Edwin Jagger DESR.
I find feather and murkur brands to be very sharp but I only get a couple shaves out of them before they dull. Astra blades are pretty good and I can use one for a week.
The right shaving soap is as...
Without suggestions for gun racks I will comment that if you buy a decent inexpensive winch you will use it a whole lot more than you think.
And you can never have too much light. Rig some aux led lights- they keep getting better and cheaper. Front and rear at least, sides if you desire.
I don’t but it was #1 8pt at Illinois deer classic that year. I let a friend sit in my stand because I had to be out of town.
Her is another view same deer
168” after 1.5” deductions in 2012 Illinois. Archery kill about 100 yards behind my house. Scrap of velvet remaining.
