I was out shooting my Taurus 1911 today and all the sudden in the middle of a mag, the hammer would not drop. The trigger is not releasing the hammer at all. What could be the problem with this? I'm debating on whether to send it back to taurus, or have a local gunsmith replace the broken...

I just bought some used 45 acp brass from a guy. I just noticed that the flash holes in most of the brass I bought from him are huge compared to the rest of my brass. What would cause this, and is it safe to shoot? Thanks
