Seems time for Ruger to reintroduce the 44 Mag carbine

Seems like Ruger could just use the Ruger Scout platform and offer it in .44 mag to satisfy the nostalgia crowd, and another caliber for the straight-walled cartridge hunting crowd. I enjoy mine in .450BM as a handloader, some don't care for the "blast" of that round, .44 mag could be an option.

    Stevens 417 1/2 ?

Looks to have had a Vernier type ladder sight mounted to the tang, a fun target rifle in it's day. The first one I've seen.

    MAS 36 or MAS 49/56

I still have my 49/56 which I reload for, sold off my two M36's. I enjoy the semi a whole lot more for a decent shooter, the ergonomics of it, 10 round mags that are easy to switch out. From my perspective of 32 years of army time, I like the compactness of this rifle and it's ruggedness for a...

Bolt Action Chambered in 5.56 w/ 18”+ Barrel

Remington used to make a Model-788 bolt gun chambered for .223, I found one recently so I could work with heavier bullet rather than my A4 carbine. So far it's been a fun rifle, older school but their out there if you shop around.

    Winchester model 100

In the time it took to check out my M100 recently, another one came into the lgs from another old timer being done with hunting. This one is open sights, very nice condition overall so it also went home with me today, traded a Savage M99 in .308 for it. Must have been a popular rifle in this...

    muzzle brakes

The only takeaway I picked up on was " a young newbie shooter who picked up reloads at the gunshow", something we all should know not to trust. It was stated they were loaded to max, the young guy just did not know what he was using from lack of experience. Good that someone helped him out though.

    Winchester model 100

I did get a chance to shoot my M100 yesterday, more so for a function check. It cycled well and decently sighted in from the original owner, will be a decent backup rifle for this deer season. A nice compact rifle, good balance.

    Winchester model 100

I recently acquired a Model 100 in .308, checkered with swivels and an old school Redfield scope, I don't know enough about them to answer your question. Found it at my lgs, a trade in from an old timer, very nice condition with some honest wear on it. There was a recall on them over the years...

Hunter education programs halted by Biden

Yet many of these ranting Democrats keep saying they grew up with hunting and don't want to infringe on that sport.

    .250 Savage #1

I would enjoy finding that International stocked rifle, beautiful! .308 would be my caliber of choice, or down to .243.

    Relics of War

I was at Bagram also around 2012 and saw many of those same rifles, some were probably legit but many were also Kyber Pass copies. There was a website I found at the time that explained the many proof stamps found on those rifles, some just did not match up historically to proper years of...

    .223 Bolt Action Rifle

If you can find one, an older school Remington M788 in .223 would make a good walkaround gun. I found one earlier this year at the lgs, hefty little rifle with a reddish color in the stained wood stock. I still have not shot it yet but am happy to have found a bolt rifle for that caliber. I've...

    1917 Enfield

Was the red paint to signify a Lend Lease rifle and chambered for 30-06 rather than .303? To avoid confusion from P14 rifles still in use by the Brit Home Guard?

Smith and Wesson Pre model 28

I bought this HP in 2003 for 300 singles, I had it lettered from the factory. It left in 1955 to a hardware warehouse in Portland OR, it was in a relatives estate in Illinois when I purchased it. NOT factory engraved but from my research the work was done by a family shop in Mainz Germany, by...

    Ruger Gunsight Scout..308

Good for you! I own the Ruger Scout in .450BM with walnut stock and it is a beast in the woods for deer, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and the round. I roll my own with a 300 grain JHP. Initially I tried the scout mount for the scope and did not like it, I pulled the rail and plugged the holes. I...

    why not a bullpup?

As a close quarters weapon I could see some use, but it's not for everyone. I latched onto a bullpup shotgun for use as a security/defense weapon. After putting on a forward grip and a tac light/laser dot combo, what a perfect weapon for home or property defense.
