I've never had a knife open in my pocket, I wear loose fitting clothing and generally at work only have a lighter and knife in my front pocket. I took that dumb little plastic safety off the kershaw leek and carried it for months without a problem, tip up with blade toward the seam.
There are plenty of knives from China that cover all budgets and levels of quality, same as from any country. Personally I only buy USA made, companies like lionsteel have me thinking Italian tho!
Yeah the finger grooves are definatly designed for a bigger man than me, but I'm a chef by trade and I've built up some pretty major calluses using cheaper dexter knives over the years so take my opinion for what its worth... That enyo fits my girly hands perfect though!
Get a kitchen knife made from a kitchen cutlery manufacturer, cold steel is an excellent budget manufacturer of tactical combat style knives, I'm sure they're serviceable but for the money there is a million other options.
Wife took the first photo, I took the second, if you can tell. This is pretty much my grail as far as fixed blades go, I'm sure I'll get a spartan or 2 in the future but this will always be my precious!
I think they are legit 'the' top of the line also, and engineered by people who know what they're doing, so far just have a sebenza and the GB, but unfortunately for my bank acct, I am hooked!
