    Odd military paperwork for Beretta

Interesting that the paper work is for a caliber 7.65 Beretta. That would be a model 1935 chambered in .32 ACP.

Oldie but goodie, all steel revolver ...

Squires Bingham, precursor of Armscorp if memory serves correctly.

    Colt Shooting Master

I was with Dave when he got to shoot his new old Colt and I had the opportunity to shoot a few cylinders of .38 special with it. Fantastic SA trigger pull, very light. And revolver shoots to point of aim.

    The Eugene Stoner Tapes

Just remember that Browning designed a lot of the features of the 1911 based on U.S. Army Cavalry requests/demands.

    Taurus 692 38 357 Da Sa 9mm

I've had one for a year and shot all calibers. When I shoot 9mm I don't bother with a moon clip, but push the fired brass out with a stick. This works fine with brass cases, but steel cases are hard to eject so I advise shooting only brass cased 9mm ammo.

    Walther/Manurhin P1: A 2023 Perspective

Excellent post, thanks. I have a P1 with the reinforcing nut in the frame from the 1980s. Haven't shot it in quit a while probably because I shoot its offspring the Beretta 92 when I'm not shooting revolvers.

What is the last gun that you bought?

    A new 2020 Colt Python.

    Taurus 605 Defender 357 Magnum

Trigger pull on mine is pretty good, probably better than a Smith J frame. Also consider a 856, it's only a .38 special, but is a six shot. Firing .357 magnum in small revolvers is not a very pleasant experience.

Are black powder pistols still that hard to find?

    Midway has been well stocked.

New gun for first time older shooter

Another vote for a .357/.38 special revolver such as a S&W 686 plus 7 shot. My home defense gun is loaded with the old FBI load. +P LSWCHP 158 grain .38 special. Ideally your friend would learn basic handgun marksmanship with a .22 and then shoot his .357/.38.

Concealed carry in Florida as a Pennsylvanian

While you can open carry in Pa without a permit there is an exception in Philadelphia, in Philly you need a permit to open carry.

Colt Model 1896 US Army 38 Long Colt revolver

Congratulations! Thanks for the excellent photos. One of the revolvers that led to the Army wanting a .45. Probably fun to shoot with little recoil.

    M&P9 1.0 Discontinued?

To the best of my knowledge when S&W put the M&P2 on the market the !.0 was discontinued. If you really want one I'd either get a police trade in or find someone that wants to sell theirs. Mags for the !.0s and 2.0s are interchangeable.

    What did you shoot today?

I put 150 rounds thru a new Taurus G3C. The last 24 of the rounds were HP while the rest were ball, both 115 grain and 124 grain. No problems at all. Sights out of the box were dead on using a combat hold.

    Any SD9VE fans here

Glad to see a positive report on the SD9VE. I've always thought that it's an excellent pistol with very good ergonomics and accuracy. The primary complaint has always been the trigger, but people don't understand that if you treat it like a DA revolver trigger it's fine. It's heavy for a...

Remington .38 Spl 158gr +P LHP in Vyes Ballistics Gel

Tests with a 4 inch barrel needs to be done, but it is good to know what shots from a snubby will do I suspect most folks who carry a revolver carry a snobby. Thanks for the info.

    Lowest Recoil .38spl Ammo

Also consider 148 grain wadcutter .38 special ammo made by all the major ammo manufacturers. This was designed for target shooting with low recoil.

    Speedloaders for a Taurus 856?

Uses the same speedloaders as Smith and Wesson 6 shot K frame .38 special revolvers.

Snub Nose Carry Wheelgun Hammer Preference

DA only for me, mostly carry a 642, but do have a 640-1 and 640-2 that get carried occasionally. Just purchased a Taurus 856 snub that is DA only. Like the extra shot, might become the most carried. I should mention that I carry holstered in my front pocket.
