    1911 45 ACP "range" Ammunition

That's why I showed lower prices for the exact same ammo shown in other posts. You're right: the point is not to find the cheapest. The point is not to overpay for your chosen ammo. That is why you use a tool, like the one I linked above.

    1911 45 ACP "range" Ammunition

$150ish/350 = ~.43/rd Federal @ .32/rd, Federal @ .36/rd, Federal @ .36/rd. Hornady XTP +P @ Midway is .94/rd. Why would you pay that?? :banghead: Hornady XTP +P for .57/rd or Hornady XTP +P for .74/rd. I understand some people like to pay more, but this is not one of those times...

    1911 45 ACP "range" Ammunition

I like LAX Ammo for bulk. They have reman and new. I've used LAX for about 2 years, shooting new and reman in .45, .41 Mag, 10mm, .357 Mag, .38 Spcl, and 9mm. I have had zero problems. The loads are consistent and they shoot clean. LAX customer service is excellent--the one time I did have...

    Doctor's Inquiry Re Gun Ownership

Many have suggested this type of action, and it only makes me think: none of y'all have tried to get an appointment with a new doctor in the last year. Your doctor is not the same as your car mechanic or your gunsmith. Your doctor has more patients than they can possibly see. If you change...

    Colt Cobra date of mfg.

The little blue book--Colt's Dates of Manufacture--by R.L. Wilson dates your Cobra at 1953, although it seems to indicate there should be an 'LW' following the serial number. Perhaps Old Fuff or Dfariswheel will wander by and shed some more light.

    What's a Real 1911?

Well, I guess I ought to post to this thread since I'm the original offender--I called 'abomination' on poor ezypickns S&W. I agree with everything posted by Fuff and Tuner about what a 'real' 1911 is. Because I'm younger than them (but who isn't? :neener:) I might include all Colt full size...

What's Better Than a 1911 or Hi Power?

No, you don't. I don't know what the S&W IS, but I know what it isn't: A 1911. So, rephrasing your question correctly: What's better than what I've got? Answer: An actual 1911. (Sorry for the blatent snobbery but, dangitall, that abomination is NOT a 1911!)

    The top 5 .45's for allowing double-taps

Any ol' milspec (Yes, that's critical, IMHO: milspec, or as close as you can get to it) 1911 will do the trick just fine. 45 isn't a particularly difficult recoil round and big steel guns eat up what there is. Stay away from 4" or shorter slides and you'll be just fine.

    Real Life shootout

Glenn makes an important point: It is very important to practice, and practice realistically. Which is why I always try to wet myself at the range.

Guns and Gays: Similar core issue on different sides of the aisle?

Ok, so I lied: I don't care if this thread gets locked or I get banned, this is worth arguing about. So, if I understand you, what you're saying is: You can make no cognitive argument to back up your statements or your beliefs. Is that right? And you don't find this to be a text-book...

Guns and Gays: Similar core issue on different sides of the aisle?

(C'mon Snake, you already promised yourself, and others, in this thread that you wouldn't do this....you KNOW this is going to lead to NOTHING productive--and will probably mean thread lock. Just let it go, let it go....aw damn here I go again....) So, my fine friend, would you care to...

Guns and Gays: Similar core issue on different sides of the aisle?

I didn't see any dissent. I saw three misspellings in one sentence. Further the sentiment expressed seemed to express the OP's opinion that homosexuality is some sort of sin or abomination and that homosexuals were liars infiltrating 'our' schools. Yep. That's ignorant. I don't ever...

Guns and Gays: Similar core issue on different sides of the aisle?

Wow. We made it a whole 10 posts before the ignorance hit the fan. The fact that only 10 literate people posted before we got ignorant is what scares a lot of thinking people away from our side. The most ignorant 10% seem to be the most vocal, too.

Guns and Gays: Similar core issue on different sides of the aisle?

A common error made by heterosexuals. Tell me: when did you make the 'lifestyle choice' of your sexuality?? I bet you can't find one gay person that will tell you they made a 'lifestyle choice' to be degraded, humiliated, persecuted and denied basic rights. Actually, as long as the 'guys'...

Funky pistol designs, part XIV: The Browning BDM

Holy Zombie Threads, Batman! If I count correctly, this is the FOURTH time this thread has been resurected from the dead by a new member. I guess the question now is: Could a BDM kill this zombie thread?? (BTW, Rich, Welcome to The High Road and remember: Thou shalt not commit thread...

What if US was like Pakistan in terms of gun market?

Guys, you might want to do a little back reading of Rachen's posts. Rachen is Chinese and appears to favor the form of government currently in power there. His MySpace page features-prominently-an image of (I believe) Mao. If my tinfoil hat wasn't so tight, I'd tell you he was here to help...

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! And with his very first post, yet. Welcome to The High Road! Thanks for making your first post a good one (and worth repeating). RIATAC45: The items you posted are so incredibly, pathetically cheap, slanderous, ridiculous and ignorant that I would...
