That is what the Courts are for, to protect the minority from the majority. All we can hope for is that the Supremes declare these weapons bans unconstitutional.
I've been a resident of Illinois for 43 years. Our state is just as anti-gun as California, but we are now getting implemented a Shall Issue Concealed Carry law. The only reason we got it is because of a District Court decision.
If the Supremes do their job, I believe most of these BS laws are...
I'm on disability. I have Parkinson's Disease and osteoporosis.
Why should being on disability be a ban on carrying a weapon? I need one more than most, as I surely can not fight or run.
I've cracked a rib just by leaning against a fence. If they hit me in the chest they could break my ribs...
I bought the Argie FM90 Hi-Power that AIM and SOG were selling earlier this year. It looked unfired, and I only paid $329. The finish isn't as good, but it is a 100% compatible Hi-Power built under license. Trigger pull is great, and I haven't even pulled the mag disconnect yet.
Shadow, you forgot to mention that the import Yugo M57 safety also blocks the slide. I've had other pistols that worked the same way (Star Super A and Ballister-Molina). I think my Argie Hi-power works the same way also. When the Yugo M-57's came in I switched to these as my carry pistol.
I...
I'm shooting 9x23 Winchester through one of my Yugo M-57's. It is the ballistic duplicate of the 357 Magnum. All it took was reaming out a 9mm Tok barrel and a 9mm barrel bushing.
CZ-52 magazines work if you dremel a magazine catch slot. See the following thread: http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?163480-Yugo-M57-tokarev-alternate-magazine-option
Get one of the Argentine FM-90 Hi-Powers. Right now J&G is selling them for $290 to $300, which is a hard price to beat. They are 100% compatible with the original, they just don't have the same finish or the front scallop...
I think the Norinco 54-1 has the longer ejection port. The only one with the smaller ejection port is the Norinco Model 213, AFAIK. You should be able to convert with just the barrel and bushing.
What type of magazines do you have, narrow or wide?
I have the smallest hands of any guy I know. Most pistols have too much of a trigger reach for me. Even the CZ-75 and the Mak's are just out of reach. The pistols I know I can shoot (I own them) are the 1911, the Browning Hi-Power, the CZ-82 in single action (not double action), any of the...
If you want something hotter than 9x23 Winchester and don't want to deal with a bottleneck cartridge, you could try this. Take another 9mm barrel and ream it out to accept a 9x25 (Mauser Export, not Dillon) case and bullet. Then take once fired 223 brass and cut it down to 9x25, instead of the...
Extra mags for the Yugo M-57 are easy if you don't mind working a little bit with a Dremel. The CZ52 mags work fine after a small slot is cut for the magazine latch. Check out the following thread:

I second the TT-33/ Yugo M-57. It is on sale at $189. The You can buy 1200 rounds for $120. It is my favorite carry weapon. When you get some more $$ get a 9mm barrel and barrel bushing (cost about $50) and you can shoot 9mm Luger through the pistol. And you can modify another 9mm barrel and...
The 9x23 Winchester is my favorite cartridge. It is the ballistic duplicate of the 357 Magnum that can be fired from an autoloader. Less muzzle blast, more cartridges, faster reloads, lower recoil (IMHO) than my 686 in a much easier to conceal package (I primarily use it in my Yugo M-57 Tok with...
I reload once fired 223 brass cut down to 9x23, also known as the Super Cooper (The brass runs me less than 2 cents a case versus 35 cents for the 9x23). The 9x23 Winchester is basically the same thing. No problem at all with an unramped barrel. I've never heard of any 9x23 Winchester brass...
