    Lubing after using Flitz?

Thanks for confirming it, guys. I always use the Slip 2000 cleaner/degreaser on the parts after polishing them (for the reason brickeyee mentioned). I was just reading the instructions on my new tube of Flitz paste and realized I've never read anything about proper clean-up in their...

    Lubing after using Flitz?

Surprisingly, I can't find the answer to this question anywhere, so I wanted to see what everyone else does. After polishing a part(s) with the Flitz paste, does the part need to be cleaned with some kind of solvent/CLP to remove the residue, or should it be left as-is and have the lube applied...

So much for Texas civil liberties...arrests IN BARS for being drunk?

So it's almost like arresting people for crimes they may commit in the future. And we thought Minority Report was fiction… :scrutiny:  P.S. Looks like GTSteve03 beat me by a few seconds, but it's funny how our posts are nearly identical... :)

    reliable webhost

I've been using www.WebHost4Life.com for about 4 years now and have been happy with them. They meet all your requirements and then some, and they are fairly inexpensive. And, if you use them, I'll get my referral bonus. ;) www.WebHost4Life.com

CCW renewal class in the DFW area??

Another vote for The Bullet Trap. Everything is done on-site, and their prices are pretty competitive, especially if you're a member there.

    Ammo Restrictions at DFW Ranges

CCGR doesn't have ammo restrictions IIRC. Backwoods TRAPS has no ammo restrictions on handgun calibers, but only soft point or JHP for rifles.

Nighthawk 1911 - This is driving me nuts !

You dealer is full of it - Damascus slides go for $650 MSRP, probably high $400 - low $500 dealer. I've never heard of a Nighthawk with Damascus slide, so it is a pretty rare and cool gun, but $3500 still sounds too much for it.

Are Les Baer, Wilson, and Ed Brown pistols worth the money?

That's one of the most ignorant statements I've read in a while. Getting a gun that fits your hand is not just a matter of changing grips. It’s an easy way to make it a little better, but if you really want to customize your 1911 to fit your hand, it can be accomplished by replacing grips...

Are Les Baer, Wilson, and Ed Brown pistols worth the money?

 There is no such thing as a semi-custom Springfield for $850. Other than that, I think it's been summed up pretty well. What's worth something to one person may not be worth half as much to another. Every single semi-custom and custom 1911 I own is worth what I paid for it...

Quick question - Al Blazer 230 FMJ OK for 1911?

Blazer is OK for range ammo where 100% reliability is not a must. I've shot a few cases of it in both 9mm and .45ACP, it worked OK, but I've had some problems with bullet setback during feeding from a magazine due to not enough crimp. I've also seen a few primers pressured out of the case by...

What have you heard about Tripp Research?

I agree with everyone else. The quality of his work is outstanding, and his turn around times are some of the best in the industry. I've had one gun hard chrome plated so far, and am getting ready to send another one in for his Cobra Coat as we speak.

Suspects considered fighting to the death

One twisted witch. Her boyfriend shouldn't have stopped her from fighting to the end (wouldn't take long anyways) and saved taxpayers the hassle.

    Hot chick in black leather

Very nice setup! Milt Sparks turns out some great gear. I have about half a dozen of their holsters, and two more on order as we speak.

Does anyone have an indoor range?

Setting up a ventilation system will probably cost you much more than a backstop.

Recommendations for CCW 1911 .45 Please

I would recommend getting either a Commander or a Compact 1911. If you have bid paws, Commander will feel more comfortable in your hand. However, it will be a little harder (not impossible) to conceal. My personal choice for CC is a lightweight Compact or CCO 1911 of some sort - Officer's frame...

Moderation is a dirty job, especially when some members lack self-moderation, but someone has got to do it. I think most everyone agrees that most of the 1911Forum moderators were reasonable and did their thankless job well, so I wouldn't generalize and call them all Nazis. But there were a...
