    22 Accuracy Problem

LongRifles knows what he's talking about, but few of us have eyes good enough to see the differnce he's talking about (looking at the targets). He's talking where 0.02 is the difference between 1st and 10th. In the real world (that's where the rest of us are), if a .22 rimfire shot good once...

    Primers fell out while tumbling

If you really want to get to the bottom of this, then purchase a tool to tighten primer pockets (not expensive). Then, singularly, use the tool as prescribed, then load and fire the load. If you get a loose primer pocket again, then you either have too hot of a load (I'm not familiar with...

    How feasible is this?

I tend to agree with dirtyjim. I have great respect for Mr. Keenan and Mr. Model, but I think they might be over thinking the deal. A bit of bolt face modification may be in order, but that really isn't a major deal. I agree that feeding problems may be the biggest factor, but I'm betting not...

Proper punctuation, grammer, and capitalization are nice additives to communication.

Hunting with an ATV, Helmet types?

A helmet? Are you serious? I thought they were in magazine pictures only. Required? How socialist is it up there? I make my living off a 4-wheeler. I average 20 rough miles a day. Sometimes much more--sometimes quite a bit less due to rough terrain. To be required to wear a helmet is...

    Neck Sizing Question

I agree in general principle that neck sizing for 2 different rifles isn't a good plan, per se, but there is one easy way to find out if it might work in this case--try it! Not much of a loss if it doesn't--in fact no loss. You'll simply have your answer.

    Does anyone eat Marmot?

I see where no one that has actually eaten them (Marmots) has answered. Well, that now ends. I've eaten them (from CO for that matter). First off, I selected relatively young ones, but that was cansidering tenderness, not flavor. Skinning them cleanly is a bit of a challenge, because their...

    Action screw stuck after bedding

These situations point out with emphasis the statement regarding coat everything you don't want to stick with release agent! I always put 2 coats--everywhere on the action and at least 4" further up the barrel than I intend to put the epoxy. I've only done about 100, but knock on wood, with...

    Need Taurus 605 sideplate screw.

Probably moot, as you probably already did, but if not, give Jack First a shout. Maybeso!

    Numrich

Well Mr. Keenan, my first look is always Jack First. Smaller inventory, much more honest, knowledgeable, and helpful. You're a gunsmith--you know the potential good sources. I'm basically retired from this business, forget many of the good ones. Had to be reminded the other day myself (from...

    Year starting well

I have some photos, but not a clue as to how one would get them here! What difference would it make? Photos don't show a date anyway. I'm just conversing with the guys here about hunting--what's happening.

    Winchester M-71 help

Mr. Fellers had one of the two parts I need. That's half good, half bad! I still need the elevation adjustment screw and still begging any suggestions. Thanks!

    Numrich

Better be looking for common stuff only, and don't expect to learn anything or get much help talking to them. They are basically clueless. My experience from ordering is that you have a 50:50 chance of getting the correct part. As you might guess, they are the last place I look!

    Year starting well

I didn't find a buck (deer) last year until the last day of the season, but that was January 1, so this year started good. Then, I drew an antelope (Pronghorn) tag here in NV (finally!!). Season opened yesterday, so I went out. Didn't really expect it to take all day, but finally got a shot...

    Winchester M-71 help

Thanks cdet69, but no, it is Winchester. I have found the sight identified as a 98-A on a Winchester sight identification page. At one time it was a factory option, or maybeso (not sure) standard on the Deluxe model. Mine happens to be first year of production. Later, they were available...

How Do YOu Clean Resized Brass Before Loading

I pretty much go with Smoky Joe, but not to his degree. To me, we're only talking FL sized rifle brass here, because pistol brass goes through carbide dies, hence no lube, and neck sized rifle cases are dry lubed so no need to remove anything. Any more (several years), I only use Imperial lube...

    6.55x55 for predator hunting

I don't really consider my 6.5 x 55 (customized M-96 Mauser) a varmint gun, but I have used it on more than a few called coyotes. Works great--as will about any decently accurate rifle. I generally use 120 or 125 gr bullets for this application. Have fun!!!

    CCI Primers

They are certainly, absolutely NO good! I'll forward my address and you should send them to me straight away for proper disposal.

    Winchester M-71 help

Howdy Gents. Haven't been around for awhile--job plus a computer breakdown. I'm desperate for some help from the knowledgable base here. I need some parts for the rear sight of a Win. M-71. This is not the standard sight, but the peep sight option that is on the bolt. I believe it is...
