    Dear Ruger,

I happened upon a ruger no 1 in 270 win which is my favorite caliber. It was on consignment in a gun shop that I frequent that is very reputable. The minute I saw what caliber it was I knew I was screwed and about the spend some money that I hadn't planned on. It belonged to a retired man...

So hard to get it right

Errors in the news reporting and also in television shows and movies in regards to firearms is not news to any of us. For the most part the ones making the errors are usually being fed bad info and none of them give a damn anyway. After all it's not important to them. I watched the movie...

I finally ordered the Simply Rugged for SW 686

I got one and it arrived last month. Made for a ruger 44 special with a 4 5/8 inch barrel. Beautiful fit and in oxblood with border stamping. It is the pancake style and works well. I will be ordering a couple more for 2 other handguns. Waiting for it was the hardest part.

Legal duty to retreat vs Moral duty to retreat

So we don't need honorable intentions or behavior? This is one of the things wrong with our society today. That is what bad guys are. People with dishonorable intentions. It IS the honorable thing to do to stop an obvious criminal from being able to succeed in crime.

Legal duty to retreat vs Moral duty to retreat

Not all situations are the same. There may be a time when you can't or don't really want to retreat since the problem may just follow you. Some bad guys will see it as their chance to continue their bad behavior and view your retreat as giving up. What do you mean by progressive states? I...

Reloading Steps before using primers and powders

Dont let unjustified fears stop you. These days primer packaging is designed in such a way that you would have to purposely make them ignite. Powder doesn't have the brisance (rapid burn rate) to do anything but burn without a primer. It is engineered for very small explosions in very small...

    Are we losing?

The article is full of wishful thinking on the part of the antis. They are trying with all of their might to beat the drum for gun control because their predictions about blood in the streets with concealed carry legislation spreading across the country have simply not come true. This is only...

    350 remington mag

Yeah RC I saw in my speer manual 357 handgun bullet loads for it like you said. As for the price I thought it was pretty low also considering how few of these you see about these days.

    350 remington mag

He's asking $500.00 for it and throwing in a full box of ammo. It's the expensive nosler stuff with 225 grain partitions. About $80.00 a box if I remember correctly. However being a handloader my 2 main concerns are brass availability and recoil. I looked on Midway and they have nosler and...

    350 remington mag

It is a Ruger model 77 with what looks like a 22 inch barrel. What about recoil?

    350 remington mag

I have an acquaintance that is trying to sell me his 350 remington magnum. He discovered that I am a "firearms enthusiast". Anyway I have never fired a 350 but know that some of you must have. What advice can you give me. Oh and yes I do handload.

    Mitchell's Mausers

My son got me one of their M-48s that was made in Serbia. Have had it for about 3 or 4 years now. Was like new having come out of storage and still heavily greased. One heck of a shooter with a great looking teak stock. I put a scout scope on it. It has no collector value not being used in...

    Waning interest in magnums

The only magnum I have is a Colt Trooper MK III 357 and I love it. I also shoot a Ruger 45 colt with mildly hot loads and also a Ruger 44 special all of the time. I usually take all 3 to the range. The 44 and the 357 don't really kick that much at least not to me when compared to the 45. I...

    357 Magnum

The 357 is a great round and will do well for you for self defense. I carry 3 different handguns for self defense (not all at the same time). A 357, 44 special and a 45 acp. Shooting the 44 special and also a 45 colt with mildly hot loads makes the 357 feel like a pussycat. As far as...

Well, I've Got Some Bad News.

I live in East Texas where it is very humid. I don't have a problem but then again I keep a close watch on my arms. I used to keep my dies and other handloading equipment in the garage but they rusted. They are now in the house in a dresser drawer and on a closet shelf. Are you by chance one...

What handgun do you shoot the most.

It has to be a tie between a ruger 44 special and a colt trooper mk III 357 mag.
